Well then, mines well just get to it.

“Okay, I was just wondering about um Blake. Like what’s his story? He’s the only person here that is like a stranger, but not only to me but everyone! “

His eyes crinkled as he smiled a knowing smile. His crow’s feet very prominent I never really noticed, but my Uncle was aging.

“Ah, I see Blake. I noticed you two were starting to become close.”

I couldn’t help the snort that came out. Close? Ya right.

“I wouldn’t exactly say were close, just… two acquaintances”

“Eryn, don’t think it has gone unnoticed how every night you and Blake are on the patio. I do believe I saw him holding you the other night. I’d say that’s close? No?”

Cringing I closed my eyes. My uncle had the wrong idea.

Blake and I were watching the sunset again like every night. I was trying to pry information out of him but he would just grunt at me. I started to feel an annoying pain in my chest, one that I was accustomed to. It meant Will was with another female, probably Leanne. I tried not to let it bother me but suddenly the pain turned unbearable. I gasped, clutching my heart; it felt like fire seeping all over my chest. The heat went down my stomach to my legs and I dropped from the chair. I felt Blake’s arms go around me, holding me on his lap I tried to wither out of it I needed to shift to run Rosie would make it better. I couldn’t scream or cry, I started to claw at my chest I wanted to rip my heart out, it would hurt so much less then this! Finally the pain subsided, like it was ice on the fire slowly putting it out, numbing me.  Opening my eyes the first thing i seen was Blake, his expression unreadable. I didn’t realize I was crying until I noticed the huge wet spot on his shirt.

“What the hell was that?” His gruff voice made my eyes snap to his

I didn’t have the energy to think of a lie, still clutching my chest I sighed and looked towards the sunset. In a low whisper I said

“Will completed the mating process with somebody else.”

I felt his eyes on me, but I didn’t turn to look at him.

“Who’s Will?”

In a sad whisper, I couldn’t help the pain that came out with my voice,

“My mate, well I mean my ex-mate”

Turning to look at him again I expected to see sympathy, instead as usual when it comes to Blake I was surprised. His eyes held rage and anger. Smiling a sad smile at him I patted his arm and went to stand up, He tightened his hold on me, locking me where I sat. I looked into his eyes questionably and he smiled at me while shrugging his shoulders.

“Just watch the sunset”

I turned back around, getting comfortable. I rested my head on his shoulder, his musky scent covered me, it was so comforting. His chin rested on top my head. His finger was making small circles on my stomach and I couldn’t help but smile, it felt so good to be held. His other hand came to rest on my hand, and he slowly intertwined my fingers with his. I couldn’t help but notice that they were a perfect fit. I felt his nose in my hair as he breathed in deep. His chest vibrated with what sounded like a satisfied growl. We didn’t say anything more to each other; we just sat there, with him holding me watching the sunset. As the last of the sun rays dipped into the earth I turned into his neck smiling.

“Thank you”

His head dipped down and he gently kissed my forehead

“You’re welcome Eryn”
