*suggested to play song when it's mentioned in the story*

Hello again my loves. For those who don't know, my name is Victoria Lowell. Last time you all heard from me i told you the story of my love affair with a guy named Lonnie against my parents word. That didn't end to well. A simple tale really. But remember when I mentioned that I saw Lonnie once again. Well this is the story of how that came to be. It was 10 years later, my father was hosting a valentine's day party for the office. I was co-ceo now so, I had to show, plus I wanted to get paid. I had to promote the business no matter the consequences.

"An apple martini please,"I asked the bartender sitting down.

"Coming up,"he responded.

"What happened to you only wanting to drink dirty martinis, wine, and champagne, "I heard a deep voice say.

That night I was irritated, over done with work so, I had a bit of an attitude with some random dude questioning me.

"And who the hell are you to question what.....,"I started to reply turning around till I saw his face.

"Still so spicy after 12 years I see,"he said.

"Oh my god Jeff! I'm so sorry! I didn't know..., "I replied shocked. Jeffrey and I have been close best of friends since cribs; mainly because are fathers were college friends that were in the business together. We dated in high school but he moved. That didn't destroy are friendship though.

"You can apologize with a hug,"he said with his arms open. So, I hoped off the stool and gave him a hug. I had to admit that light skin ignorant little boy was looking F.I.N.E fine, smelling amazing too.

"You look gorgeous, "he said taking me by my hand and spinning me around.

"You don't look half bad yourself."

"Thank you, I try."

"Did you speak to my father yet?"

"No, not just yet."

"Good, he's going to try to put us together then whisk you off."

"I don't see what's wrong with putting us together. "

"Don't make me laugh."

That's when "My Funny Valentine" by Chaka Khan came on. It was my favorite valentine's day song and Jeffrey knew especially by the smile dispersed across my face.

"Can I have this dance, "he said with his hand out. I looked at him for a second and then down at his hand.

"Sure, "I responded placing my hand in his. He then swept me off to the dance floor and placed his other hand on my waist. I put my other hand on his shoulder and we started dancing.

"Ever so elegant Mr. Ridley, "I said teasing him.

"Never tease a man who knows how to dance Vick,"he teased back.

'Your looks are laughable, unphotographable. Yet your my favorite work of art. Is your figure less than Greek? Is your mouth a little bit weak? When you open it to speak, are you smart? Don't, baby don't don't cha change your hair for me, not if you care for me......'

As the song played and I danced with Jeff, feelings that I never felt for him came to me. I brushed them off thinking it was just hormones. Lord knows how long it's been since I had sex and I haven't been in a stable relationship for 10 fucking years. With such care, he handle me as if I was as light as a feather. We glided on the floor with ease like professionals. His hand secured my back and waist as if he wouldn't let me go. I laid my head on his chest embracing his warmth as we let the music guide our moves. I started to realize what Cinderella meant in when she said it felt as if no one was in the room but the prince and her. I had the same feeling. For a couple of minutes everyone in the room disappeared. No one was left but me and Jeff. I can't be falling in love with me best friend. Can I? As the song was soon to end I came back to earth. I threw all my thoughts to the side and continued as if nothing happened.
