They met in a sandbox at five years old, they were so naive at the time and had such big dreams.
She wore her twinkle toe light-up sneakers and he had his hair slipped back. Hellos were used as a greeting and they built a sandcastle together. Briar's mom took a picture of the two and now the picture rests on their redwood mantle above the fireplace. Anybody could walk by it and just think of it as two kids having fun. But to the two kid's it was something more, it was the start of something.
Maybe it was for the best that they didn't know their future and that they were shielded from it, but on the other hand, maybe they should've known and shielded their heart.
