I set the camera up, and started the video, sliding on my headphones.
"Hey what's new everybody, this is One..." I said.
Carter continued, "Two..."
Ian finished "Three..."
And in unison we shouted "GO!"
"and today we are playing Prop Hunt!" I said. Gaming days were my favorite. I got to sit in my room for five hours straight playing video games, and I didn't really have to look at anyone. At least not until lunch.
"So are we just sorting randomly today?" Carter asked, starting off the game.
"That's literally what we always do." I responded.
The game started. I was a hiding, unfortunately.
"Anyway, for those of you viewers out there that have no idea what this is, it's a more violent game of hide and seek where the hiders can turn into props, and the seekers have to shoot them or grenade them to kill them. It's great fun really." I started talking, looking for a good hiding place. I was absolute shit at this game though, so no matter where I hid it wouldn't end well for me.
"Who's hunting?" Ian asked.
"Not me." I said. I stopped in the kitchen. "This is a strange-ass map." I clicked onto the can that was just hanging out by the counter. "There's a lot of watermelons."
"I'm hunting." Carter said.
"Oh that's good, me too." Ian replied.
They must have been let into the game, because I saw someone wander into the kitchen.
"I will find you, Skylar." Ian said.
"I'm sure you will." I replied, waiting for whoever it was to leave the kitchen. "I'll remind you that I'm actual shit at this game."
"I'm sure." Ian replied.
"Skylar, if you're in the kitchen, you should've cleaned up this mess you left behind." Carter said. So that's who's in the kitchen!
"Well good thing I'm not in the kitchen." I said, giving a thumbs up to the camera. "You guys believe me, right? Right?"
Carter left, and I followed.
I found a room with a lot of lamps in it. Lamps are good, they have a lot of health.
I changed into a lamp, and tucked myself into a corner. I stayed there while the other two raged over their shitty hunting skills.
"Where the fuck are you?" Carter yelled.
"I would give you a hint, but it would only shine a light on my situation." I said.
"I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOUR CRYPTIC SHIT!" Carter yelled.
"You're a lamp aren't you." Ian said.
"Damn you." I muttered. I tried to move, but somehow moved backwards. "And now I'm stuck."
"How'd you get stuck?" Ian said.
"I have no fucking idea." I replied. Both he and Carter came into the room.
They just started shooting every lamp. It wasn't long before they finally saw me.
"Yeah, you're sort of half in the wall, half... not." Ian said.
"Thanks, I really needed your... Ah crap, what's the word?" I said. Damn it! Approval, jurisdiction, help? Nope. "Whatever, just kill me. You only have a minute left."
Carter shot me, and the screen went black. I was a hunter this time, and so the game was allowing whoever was hiding to hide.
Eventually the game released me, and I switched from the crowbar to the shotgun.
"So who am I looking for?" I said.
"Me." Carter said.
"Ian?" I asked.
"I'm a hunter." He replied.
The game continued for the next 3 hours, switching between hunters and props.
"Okay, thanks for watching, but it's time for us to go. We'll see you, in our next video." I shut the camera off, sending the video from the camera and the game over to Carter, who would edit it to make it fit within 20 minutes.
I pushed out my chair, and got up.
Ian would probably be making lunch right now, seeing as we still had another hour before we had to record again. So, I went downstairs to help.
"What're you making today?" I asked when I got downstairs.
"Mac and cheese." Ian replied. "Can you get the cheese out?"
I went over to the fridge and grabbed the bag of cheese. "Why the fuck do we have so much cheese?" I asked, handing the bag to him.
"We have Mac and cheese every other day." Ian replied. "I just planned ahead, so no one would have to run out to the store. "
"Cool." I went about clearing off the table. "Did you get the mail?" I asked.
"No." Ian said. "Where did that come from?"
I shrugged. "I'm going to go get it then." I said, heading out the door.
"Put some shoes on!" Ian called after me. "I'm not cleaning up all the dirt this time if you don't!"
"Okay, mom." I said. I put on a pair of slides. I got the mail, and headed back inside.
I put it down on the counter, sorting through it.
Magazines, bills... Hey! "We're on the cover of the magazine!" I yelled.
Carter ran downstairs, and Ian ran in after putting the Mac and cheese down.
"It came?" Carter exclaimed.
We had done a photoshoot for TheYoutube earlier this year.
"Yes!" I was so excited about this. They were doing an article on us, as we had been awarded the tile of up and coming youtubers for this year.
"Do we have the frame ready?" Ian said. I went and got the frame. He gently put it in, and hung the frame up in the dining room.
I jumped on his back. "We finally made it!" I yelled.
"Hey, don't shout in my ear." He said. "And is there any particular reason you jumped on my back?"
"You're tall, and I'm happy." I said, shrugging.
"Okay." He replied. He was so chill with everything. "I gotta get lunch though."
"Then you better get moving." I said, laying my head on his shoulder. "And stop filming this Carter, fan girls are going to go crazy."
"But this way we can just post this instead of actually sitting down and recording a video." He replied.
"Fine, just remember to show them the cover." Ian said.
He went into the kitchen, got the Mac and cheese, and went back out to the dining room. I had already set the table, so them Mac and cheese was the last thing that was needed.
"Okay, get off." Ian said. I jumped off his back and sat down. Carter came back in and sat down as well.
Ian put the Mac and cheese down. We all got our servings and started eating.
