Betrayed {A Fairy Tail Fanfic}

Chapter One

Lucy's P.O.V.

"Ohayougozaimasu, mina!"

I walked into the guild with a huge smile. So far, my day has been awesome, even though I just woke up. It just felt like one of those good days where I would be able to pay my rent money. Wait.... Rent money!? Okay, I really hope today is a really good payday now.

A few people waved to me as I sat down at the bar. "Ohayou, Mira! I would like some pancakes, please!" I greeted Mira and requested my usual meal

"Ohayou, Lucy. Coming right up."

I sniffed the air as Mira came up with my pancakes. "Mmm! These pancakes smell so good!" I exclaimed just as my stomach grumbled. Mira finally came over and plopped my meal in front of me. Not caring about manners, I just snarfed them down.

"Say Mira, do you have any good jobs for me? This morning I realized that I was dangerously close to having my payment due..." Mira just shrugged. Suddenly I remembered Natsu and Happy. "Ehe, maybe I'll just go off to find them I guess." Glancing around the guild, I realized that they weren't in the guild. Weird. Usually they are in here making a loud mess. Then, as I doubled checked, I realized that everyone were staring at me strangely. Some people even seemed... Disgusted? It did seem a bit quieter today; even without Natsu and Happy, the guild should be rumbling about. I opened my mouth to ask Mira what was going on but I stopped as soon as I caught her giving me a deadly look. Confused, I left the bar and walked over and asked Levy instead. Not only did she not reply, she gave a sad look and walked over to Jet and Droy, turning her back towards me. Levy was my best friend! What in the world was going on...?

"Ahem, if you want to know what you did, Lucy, you should know, I'll tell you right now." Everyone looked up to see the Master standing on the s-class stairs.

"Master! What's going on!? Please tell me! And what do you mean by what I did!?" This is really getting frustrating. All of my friends are ignoring me, and its because of something I did, apparently.

Giving me a very disapproving look, Master went on. "Lucy, you beat Lisanna bloody just so you could have Natsu to yourself. This large of an event, and you still play innocent? This is not just small business, and therefore, I ban you from this guild." Nods from my guild mates followed. Wait... Ehhhh!!!!??? I'm being banned from the guild!!!!????

"Nani!!!??? Master, what are you saying! I never did anything-" I was cut off with a flick of the Master's hand. Slowly, I saw my guild mark vanishing. I tried to talk, but realized my voice was cut off from a spell. The only thing I could do was stand there open-mouthed in horror, staring at my, now blank, right hand. Then I felt a surging force in myself, prying to get out. Finger by finger, my hand clenched into a fist. Now that my voice was back, I decided to give this stupid guild a message before I leave. Everyone seemed to notice the change in my attitude as my lips shaped into a dark smirk. "Listen up, you guild of so-called fairies. I'm still supporting the fact that I'm innocent. But, as you guys rudely forced me out without even a chance to explain, you've really disappointed me. I considered you guys family. Do you even know how much those few words hurt me? I thought that in this guild, I had finally found love. But no. Instead I found betrayal and hatred. Right now I may not be able to defend myself, but when I come back, you'll all be sorry you ever did this to me." Many faces of shock reflected in my eyes. This gave me a satisfying feeling, giving me a new found idea. "Open, Gates of the Crab and Maiden, Cancer and Virgo!"

"What is it, ebi?"
"Punishment time, princess?"

"Cancer, please lengthen my hair and dye the tips red. Virgo, please give me a dark black coat that will easily conceal my identity. Fairy Tail, mark this day as the death of the old Lucy. Starting today, I will be known as the new Lucy, the girl coated in pain, hatred, and revenge. Beware." I thanked Virgo and Cancer, and closed their gates. Whisking on my black coat, I stalked out of Fairy Tail, slamming the doors behind me. I didn't take a second glance. I thought I heard Levy call my name, but I didn't pay any attention. Tears welled up in my eyes, hidden by my hood. I was now homeless, taken over by pain. All I could do was run away.
