I raise an eyebrow at him, mentally questioning him and watching as he gets really flustered under my stern gaze. After a couple of seconds of tense silence, I break out into a smile, writing out thank you and walking off. I hear him breathe a sigh of relief and shake my head.

Sometimes boys can be so ignorant.

Remus's POV

That night, I sit anxiously on my bed, waiting for any shred of news or information about what's going on. Peter and Sirius look nervously at me, biting their lips and mouthing things to each other when they think that I'm not concentrating.

James suddenly flies in, wrenching the door open as he goes and accidentally slamming it against the corner of my chest of drawers. The dent that I notice has magically appeared gets pushed to the back of my mind as I stand up to see what going on.

He shuts the door and rests his back against it. The look of pure relief in his eyes immediately makes my heartbeat slow and my breathing becomes less panicked.

"She bought it?"

"Every last word." He smiles like he's just won the tri-wizard competition.

I'm less sure though.

"Are you certain? I mean, she can be quite deceptive when she wants to, and, well......" I hesitate.

"You're a gullible mofo." Sirius chips in with a smile.

James narrows his eyes angrily at us and he and Sirius get into a heated debate about how they couldn't survive without one another. I turn to look at Peter who's just sitting there, watching it all with a bored, vacant expression that he tends to have on his face fairly often.

I sometimes think that he has the easy way of life. Going through the everyday motions, not having to care or worry about what's going to happen, how he's going to hide and lie to everyone. The most stressful thing he has to deal with is prep, and we all seem to do the majority of it anyway.

I'm picked up out of my thoughtful analysis by the sight of everyone staring at me.

"What?"

"Nothing. You just seemed very spacey, not like you at all." James says worriedly. "Everything's ok now. She has no idea about anything. It's all sorted out."

I nod as I try to let the relief properly wash over me and calm my erratic thoughts.

"Thanks, James, for doing that." I smile. "I'll slip your name into the next conversation with Lily and see how it goes for you."

His face brightens up at my offer and I laugh internally at how easy it is to please some people. We begin to sort through our work for prep and I groan in annoyance as I realise that the majority of the books I need are left in the common room where I leant them to Sirius before all the revelations came to life.

I wander slowly down the corridors towards the room and push the door open with my palms. My mind absentmindedly wanders, thinking about work, quidditch, full moons, and a load of other things that aren't my problems to worry about.

I'm greeted almost immediately by the sight of her, sitting there, calmly reading with a small, ginger ferret curled up on her chest. She turns to look at me as I shuffle around and our eyes lock together.

They're screaming at me.

Screaming that she knows.

She knows everything.
