Finding May #Wattys2016

Chapter 1

"Okay, here I go. I will count to 10 and you will hide. Don't let me find you!" Max told his younger sister, May.

"Okay!" May giggled. They were going to play a game of hide and seek at Titan Park, the biggest park in their country.

"Also, don't run too far," warned Max. "If you do, I may not be able to find you. The park is so big, people might kidnap you too."

"Okay. Can we start now?"

Max nodded his head. "Here I go. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6..." He counted all the way to 1. "Here I come!" Max shouted.

He looked at all the places around him to find May. Thirty minutes past, he still couldn't find May. Beads of perspiration was dripping down his head.

Just then, he began to worry. Images of May crying and shouting for him flashed through his mind.

"Oh no! Mum and Dad is going to kill me if anything happens to May." Max said, his voice shivering. "I got to find her."

He almost ran the whole park in order to find her. "May, where are you? May!" He shouted wherever he went.

He also asked around for help. "Did you see this girl with brown hair and..." No one saw May. Some of them even refused to help him, just chasing him away. She was lost and kidnapped and it was all Max's fault.

He crouched on the ground near a candy floss stall. Hope was lost. May was gone.

"Let go of me! Who are you?" May shouted. She was in a big black bag, big enough to hold her.

Hours ago, while hiding behind a bush, someone just scooped her up with two arms and placed her in a bag.

No one saw her as there was no one around the bush. She hid there as she thought Max couldn't find her there."Max, Max! Help! Are you there?"

"Shut up kid. If you are going to continue shouting, I am going to kill you." A man with a deep voice snapped.

Upon hearing this, she stopped shouting as they carried her into a van. Her heart pounded widly as the van drove away, further and far away from the park.

She could tell that she was at the back of the van as they placed her lying down. She started to sob. Going to the park that day was a wrong decision.

Everything was getting more quiet as they drove further away. She was alone.

She thought of the times where Max and her would be together playing. And the times when she was scared, Max would hug her and tell her "it's alright, I am here."

But now, there was no one to comfort her, no one to help her.

It seemed that all this was planned and someone was watching them the moment Max and her arrived there.

May could feel it but just didn't want to ruin the fun. Maybe Max could too.

But who? And what's the point? No one could help her now.
