This story was once titled "How To Be A Vampire". It was one of the first writing projects I ever wrote, sometime between 2013-2014. Some of you may have found me through that story, and have known and/or followed me since then. I finished the first draft around 2015, after which I started both the sequel and the second draft, but stopped and never finished either of them. I have since been very bad at producing consistent updates and any literary work—and I still am—but that's a story of poor excuses for another day.
Thankfully, in the interim, I did do a lot of world-building, character building—all the things that I should've done, and highly recommend fellow writers to also do, when writing and planning out the story, especially when it's fantasy or sci-fi. But I tend to get a little overboard with them, so I wound up almost pretty much overhauling the entire story, its world and its characters, retconning a lot of things in and out and over and under, and making too many changes, that it's become almost a new story entirely—hence also the title change. But to the legacy readers, don't fret—there's still quite a lot of familiar elements that have remained, keeping the foundation of what I built this story ground up from.
Either way, I hope you enjoy reading this dear beloved story of mine, whether you have visited it in the past, or if you're a fresh face here around these parts. But be warned: this story is rated Mature, as it is still not for the faint of heart (and I do mean it). It may delve into sensitive topics and themes that may be uncomfortable, distressing, or triggering to certain individuals. Nothing that would get me banned, but definitely not safe for a children's storytime.
All are welcome in the city of Morlyn, but we strongly advise residents and visitors to exercise caution on the streets, especially after hours.
