People are the most ignorant, selfish, and impossibly stubborn things.
They do what they want, when they want it, and expects no one to give a shit. Or, at least, not until told to. They colonize and mark territories and become possessive very quickly. Mind you, when they do get their precious items, they don't take care of it.
In October 12 of 1492, Christopher Columbus and his crew first set foot on a land not theirs, yet claimed in the name of Spain. He slowly killed Native Americans and stool their possessions: Items, gold, food, shelter, etc. They went so far as to take away their own land.
Once they had the land, though, they didn't really do much good with it except for flattering Spain. They endured unnecessary winter nights and diseases. They spread their own diseases. And they took a fertile land for granted. They took, but they didn't treat well.
I guess it all turned out fine for them. They went on to indirectly make this nation of workers, of individuals, of thinkers, but mostly dreamers. I have lost my time.
As the great Milo Greene once sang, "Dreamer, you will waste your time."
I gave up on my dreams of a future and instead replaced them with plans. Plans for a bright future in which I had no say in, so thanks to you, Dad, I would like to dismiss myself.
