Letter 10

I managed to fall asleep after writing that letter.

I crawled into bed, my back facing yours, trying to leave as much space between us as possible. I didn't want to anger you more. I wanted things to go back to the way it once was.

I had a plan.

I was going to get up early, despite how little sleep that would mean for me. I was going to bring you breakfast in bed. I was going to make your favourite food. I was going to buy that watch you were always talking about.

I was going to do anything and everything you wanted me to.

I was willing to do anything for your forgiveness.

I just wanted you to look at me with love again.

But once again, I was too late.

Because when I woke up, you were already gone.
