Chapter II:

JASON

"I can't just leave you. Besides if you fail it won't be good for Calypso and me to be ruled by that dirt face. At least if I die on this quest I know I tried to make it a better place for her." Hearing that from Leo makes me realize why I was here on this quest.

I could've just stayed in New Rome with Piper or even in CampHalf Blood with her but I chose to be in Argo II defending the world and taking a chance on this impossible quest. It made me realize that I was here not to help the gods but to make it a safer place for Piper and me.

I don't know how this quest would end. I just know that whatever the result my friends and I are doing this for the ones we love.

Now I understand Leo more than before and I'll help him keep his promise. I swear on the River Styx.

"Hey Jason, are you alright?" I heard Piper's voice behind me.

I turned towards her and manage to smile.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her.

"C'mon time for dinner. We don't want Coach Hedge to be hysterical, do we?" I let out a big sigh and held her hand.

I looked at her and I remembered the day Aphrodite claimed her.

"I love you." I said while walking to the dinning hall.

I heard her soft giggle. Then she looked up and gave me a smile.

"I know and I love you too." She kept walking until we reached the dinning hall.

On the wall flashed live images from CampHalf Blood. When I glanced at Leo I saw him staring at the wall then he gave out a sigh.

"He's going to be fine." I heard Piper whispered to me.

"Yeah I guess." I wanted to believe what she said but talking to Leo earlier, I knew better. He's not going to be fine not unless he keep his promise to Calypso.

We all ate dinner together, seeing Percy and Annabeth back from Tartarus is a good way to lift up our spirit a little just as what we need right now. We made the atmosphere a little less awkward by joking around but none of us know how to make the conversation light. At least Percy, Frank and I tried to get Leo to start his jokes but we got nothing.

"Hey, Valdez, something wrong?" Coach Hedge asked Leo while munching on his tin can of coca cola.

It was as if Leo had been snapped out of a deep thought which he was. When he looked at coach Hedge he managed to smile.

"Uhm, coach, You're worried about me which should really be touching but coming from you, I must say, honestly, It's creepy." Leo said with a knotted forehead.

"Don't push it, Valdez! I'm not worried about you or any of you rascals!" Coach Hedge defended himself.

I know that coach meant the opposite. He's just not used to being soft hearted to people because it takes away his "COOL-GUY" persona.

"Okay , coach. Not pushing it." Leo said while holding up both hands as if to say he surrenders

After we ate dinner Piper and I decided to go to the stables while Percy, Annabeth, Frank, Hazel and Leo decided to sleep early. Nico volunteered to man the helm while Coach Hedge said he'd be in his cabin watching Chuck Norris films. It was a peaceful night at sea. It's great to have Percy back.
