He always wanted to play Kobe, if he hadn't retired before than, or even LeBron.

It's what fueled him until he got to the middle of his sophomore year in high school and realized his love for the sport is what kept him going.

But that dream to play against or beside one of those legends never left him.

In that moment, he started to realize how much of a privilege this opportunity was for him.

And that's what made him stand, though he sighed and still had his other friend on his mind (Michael), that smile remained on his face."Yeah, you guys are right. This is what I've worked hard for and I need to take advantage of this experience." He nodded, zipping up his nike jacket and pulling the hood over his head.

Delaney and Tai smiled back, feeling genuinely happy and accomplished since they were able to help the boy.

The smaller one took a step to the boy and placed her hand on his arm. "Also, this could benefit me, right? Okay, listen so you can get a word in for me to the management for a towel girl position." Tai said, raising her brows with a grin on her lips.

Calum gave her a stale face then moved his eyes up to a hair full of dirty blonde locks across the room. Soon, blue met brown and Calum moved his down to where Tai stood. The blue eyed one nodded then called out to Tai.

Both Delaney and the one called turned, Tai raising her brow. "What?"

Luke's voice faintly sounded from inside the conjoined room door. "Can you help me find my pants?" He asked, causing Calum to roll his eyes. The boy could've used a better excuse to get her to leave him and Delaney alone, yet he uses that one.

Delaney chuckled quietly as the smaller one turned her head in the door's direction. "Your pan--Luke, are you walking around in there naked?" She squinted, hoping that wasn't the deal. Luke's chuckle could be heard from the room.

"I mean, I can't find my pants so..."

"Luke, oh my gosh you nak--, did you look in the pocket of your suitcase?" Tai sighed, now turning fully towards the door because she had a feeling he wasn't going to find it.

Luke groaned, "No, can you just please help me, babe?" He asked and Calum snickered. Tai smacked his arm then sighed and jogged to the other room.

Delaney watched the girl leave the room then turned to face Calum, a smile on her face as she poked his shoulder.

"I heard a laugh. That means someone is feeling better." She wiggled her brows, gaining a chuckle from the boy. He snaked his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.

"Yeah, I am, wonder who I should thank for that." Calum tilted his head and knotted his bushy pair above his eyes together. Delaney rolled her eyes then giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I wonder, too."

"Guess we're just wondering, then?"

"Guess so."

"But if I knew who to thank I'd thank them kind of like this." He bent down with a smile wider than an ocean and met her soft lips with his own.

Delaney wore one of her own but the moment his lips touched hers she was officially floating in Calumland, where everything was soft and warm and perfect.

The kiss lasted maybe a few seconds later before they pulled away, all grin-ey and tingly.

"That's a great way to say 'thank you'." Delaney sighed happily, gaining a small 'yeah.' from the boy.
