Lady Earth and the Children of Eden [Poem]

There was a King who loved
A Lady that danced in the skies above
Blue in her eyes and green in her hair
Flowers adorned on her crown; so fair
But she and her children of Eden
Fell down into the disparaging despair within
With a cheater and a liar; they dance away
But the King's in His broken heart, proclaimed

"I will save you; my children my bride!
I'll take the thistles and thorns with pain at my side!
Come back, sweethearts! Come back to Me
Though you betray me; I love you dearly!"

She is buried beneath
Her tears water her with pain and grief
Eyes darken deeply in knowledge
Of the world's good and evil; on the edge
Of her sanity and dark warfare
Defiling what was once graceful, free and fair
And she doesn't hear it but the King's still calling
Crying out the anthem of love, He sings;

"I will save you; my children my bride!
I'll take the thistles and thorns with pain at my side!
Come back, sweethearts! Come back to Me
Though you betray me; I love you dearly!

Don't wait another minute my dears
I come; I come; I come; oh will you never hear?
I will run down to where you are
Until you dance again with the stars!"

The children of Eden
They doubt, mourn, and weep; lost within
Their mother breaking; cries without
Even as the King is reaching out
And planting a sloppy wet kiss
Upon her beautiful, soft and thirsty lips
Proposals; and promises that are to be kept
Fulfilled in the wedding we shall never forget!

And as he marries His bride renewed
He adopts the children who
Have accepted Him as Daddy to them
The Lady Earth and the Children of Eden
They become the Bride; the Church Body
Sons and Daughters of Zion; and of the King
The Death that the King accepted
Brought to life what was forsaken!
The promises our Lover and King made
Are fulfilled in the blood that paid
The debts of our betrayal
He was pierced by the thorns and the nails
For me....
