*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

"Fuck!"

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

"I swear to fucking Satan's motherfucking spawn," I mumble under my breath.

*Be-*

I turn my arm around and hit the dismiss button on my phone before it destroys my ear drums.

So, guess what? Today I start my senior year at Skeethen High School. Yes, Skeethen. I'm not sure what kind of drugs the people who named this school were on when they named it. They must've been on some good shit.

I sit up on my bed and stretch. A yawn escapes my mouth and I feel the need to fall back on my bed, but I don't. Instead, I get up and walk over to my dresser. I go through the drawers and try to find something to wear. After getting my clothes I walk to the bathroom and get in letting the warm water relax me before my first day in prison. Yup, you heard that right, prison.

Think about it for a minute. School is not very far from being a prison. The teachers are like the prison guards, some are mean as hell, others aren't so bad. Classrooms are the cells, you don't even get to pick which one you're thrown into. Oh, and don't even get me started about the food. Ugh.

So yeah, school is prison. Well at least for me.

After jumping out the shower, I do my daily routines and get dressed.

"Peyton, get out the bathroom! You've been in there for 30 minutes," my mother yells from the kitchen. I just roll my eyes. Not the end of the world, woman.

"I will when I'm done, mother." I yell back.

I look at myself in the mirror, and I hardly recognize the girl staring back at me. It's a new me I guess.

I walk out the bathroom and into the living room, slipping on my white converse. My outfit doesn't really match, like usual. I'm wearing denim skinny jeans and a loose black hoodie. My hair is pulled up in a long ponytail, reaching to the bottom of my butt.

My sister Diana walks into the living room and slips on her tennis shoes.

"Y'all girls ready? Gina's already in the car so let's go!" My mom shouts from outside, on our porch.

Gina is the second oldest sister. I have three sisters and one half brother. I don't call my half brother, my half brother. To me he's my brother. We don't have the same dad, but I've known him my whole life. His name is Shaun. My oldest sister is Janet, then Gina, next is Diana and then there's me. Lil ol' Peyton.

I walked outside onto the porch with my sister trailing behind me. Looking up at the sky, I see a beautiful sunrise. It looks like someone was painting the sky with turquoise, purple and orange. It really was beautiful. Anyway, let's get back to the problem at hand.

Before I know it, we're halfway to the school and I'm trying to decide whether or not I should just jump out the car. The more I think about it, the more I decide that I shouldn't.

"We can't, we can't back down, " echoes in my head, a song from Camp Rock: The Final Jam. It's kind of inspiring. Well, I haven't jumped out the car yet. So that's good.

You're so lame, I swear. This is why nobody likes you. My inner self says, well, to myself.

Shut up. Nobody likes you, ya little helian. I say back to my inner self.

Why am I having a whole conversation with myself?

'Cause you're crazy, bitch.

Um. Ya know, you're me too.

Ahhh fuck. I forgot.

I look forward and see the small school through the glass. Students start to pile off the buses and others being dropped off by their parents. Some people I recognize but others look new, not many though.

Skeethen is not very popular or big. There's only about 350-400 people in the school. That's including middle and high school. It's pretty normal, despite being so small. The food is horrible. The teachers, well some are cool, most suck. So, it's just like every other school.  I guess. There's nothing very special about Skeethen, nothing at all. The rules are stupid too. The most stupidest rule this school has ever enforced is the "boys can not wear their hair up, including braids, ponytails, etc." That rule isn't enforced anymore because of the complaints of parents and their kids. My mom pulls into the drop-off parking lot and let's me and my two sisters out.

"Have a great day at school. I love you guys!" My mother shouts while speeding off in her little blue ford focus.

Well, that was quick. Usually she gives us a whole lecture about being on our best behavior. We never listened, so it was pointless. I guess she caught on to it. She wasn't very good with words or advice. That was always my dad's job. He gave the best lectures and advice and just about everything. He wa-.

"So, who's classes do y'all have?" My sister Diana asks Gina and I, interrupting my thoughts.

"Not sure. I know I have Health and P.E first period and I don't remember the rest to be honest," I say almost instantly.

I look over at Gina and she just shrugs. She takes college classes because she's a senior. Well, a super-senior. She took another year so she could take college classes for free. It's a program the school provides for high schoolers who want to do it.

I get to the doors and sigh. Well, my hell for the next year lies behind that door. Ah fuck it. And I walk through the doors.
