Everyone texted and called but I didn't want to talk,I just let them know I was good and left it at that.

Alonna told me that Chris said I can stay in the house and we'll figure out something when he gets back. The house was the last thing I was thinking about and I really didn't give a fuck about who stayed here and who didn't.

I got up and looked at the time,It was 9am so I turned over to go back to sleep but I smelled breakfast cooking and it smelled good asf.

I got up and walked to the kitchen seeing Derrick making breakfast.

"Somebody smelled my food"He said sitting a plate on the table,I laughed

"Shut up"I said sitting down

"How you feeling"He asked

"I'm good,Better than yesterday"He nodded and turned off the stove

"Well I gotta head back over to my place so call me if you need something sis"He said putting on his jacket that was in the chair

"I will"I said,He gave me a hug and left

After I finished my food I took a shower and started cleaning up the mess we left before our trip.

After I finished I got dressed then went to Home Depot to get some paint and went food shopping.

I wanted to paint the living room a light velvet color.I planned to keep myself so busy so I wouldn't mope around feeling depressed all day. There were moments I thought about us,I mean the shit is crazy because we left here together and I came back alone.

I just pray that god has me and help me get through  this.

While I was in line I heard a familiar voice call my name.

"Jay?"The girl said,I turned around and saw Akeeya with a little boy standing by her

"Oh hey Akeeya"I said walking to her,She hugged me

"How you been"I said hugging her back

"Good,This is my son Marcus"She said,I looked at the little cute chocolate skinned boy

"Awwww he's so cute"I said smiling

"Thank you,I see you doing well and you look gorgeous"She said

"Thank you,You do too"I said looking at her dressed in a all navy blue over sized jogging suit with dirty converses

She looked didn't look like herself,She looked stressed and miserable and just the opposite of the last time I saw her,I actually felt sorry for her.I looked in her cart and saw she had a box of Ramen Noodles, some packs of kool-aid,bread,sugar and hotdogs.

"You can get in front of me,you have less"She smiled as I let her pass

"Thank you"She said

As the lady rung her up I was texting Alonna and seeing what she was doin.I heard 3 beeps and looked up at the cashier.

"I'm sorry Ms.your card declined"She said,Akeeya looked in her bag then looked at her phone

"Give me a minute,I'm gonna put some things back"I stopped her

"Umm,You can put her things with mine"I said to the cashier

"You don't have to do that"Akeeya said

"It's ok,I don't mind"She smiled

"Thank you do much"

"You're welcome,In fact just grab some snacks for y'all"I said to her

After bagging everything up we walked outside and she got her things out the cart.

"Thank you again Jay,This means a lot and I am gonna pay you back"I shook my head

"No don't worry about it,You drove here"I asked

"No,We got on the train"

"I can drive you guys back if you want,it's too cold to have him out here on the train "She nodded and we went to my car

She showed me how to get to wherever she lived.20 minutes later I pulled up in front of a complex building.

"Thank you for paying for the food,And the ride"She said about to get out but I stopped her

"Akeeya wait"She closed the door back

"How are you really"I asked,She looked down

"I'm fine Jay,Just been kind of hard for a while"

"I know we haven't talked in years but you were always like a sister to me and you can talk to me about anything"She nodded

"It's been hard,After I got pregnant with Marcus my dad kicked me out,Marcus father wanted nothing to do with us and so I moved in with a guy I thought loved me until he started taking my money and shit and putting his hands on me, I left him last year and now we staying with some people who steal from us,Don't care that we're there but want me to pay $300 every month"I saw tears pouring from her eyes

"I just want my son to be safe and live a decent life,he doesn't deserve this shit"I nodded and looked back at Marcus who was asleep,I held her hand and looked at her

"I'm sorry you had to go through that and I'm not gonna let you continue to so y'all can stay at my house  until you get back on your feet"She shook her head no

"I cant do that,I know Chris not gonna want me there and-"

"You don't have to worry about that"She looked at me and gave me a hug

"Thank you so much Jay,You don't know how much I appreciate this"She said crying,I hugged her back

"It's ok,Just go get what things you have in there that you want to take with you and I'll be right here"She nodded getting out the car

I smiled and wiped away the few tears I shed because it felt so good to help someone who extremely needed it.

My mom told me how she was homeless at 16 and how her own family didnt wanna help her so she got a job.

She always taught me to appreciate the things I have because a lot of other people don't have them and I had to admit,This really made me feel better,Especially helping out someone who was like my sister regardless of the high school fight we had between us........
