I remember that the first ever time she approached me was the day she had just been told. Her long dreadlocks were up in a bun and she had a cocky smirk on her pretty, caramel-coloured face. I was sat on the edge of a fountain simply watching the people in the park when she sat her butt down next to me. She looked like she was deep in thought- and she was.
"I would like to do many things." is how she started the conversation. "Including dangerous things like... Skydiving." She stopped realising that she hadn't introduced herself.
"My name is Violet." She held her hand out for me to shake. I gave her a high five.
"You're kinda weird, Violet." I replied despite finding her amusing.
"I'd like to loose this virginity of mine, Jackson." She mused, completely randomly.
"Get into a stable relationship." I grinned.
"You see, nobody would want to date me. They wouldn't be able to handle the long-distance thing."
"There are plenty of guys that live near you... What are you getting at?" I frowned in confusion.
"What I'm saying is I'd have to tell them that I'm leaving - if not it would be unfair to them... It's unfair to myself too, though. It's not my fault I'm leaving."
"Whose fault is it?" I asked.
"My parents. Their beliefs are forcing me away. Although, it must be difficult for them, too."
"Why are you telling me this?" I held her gaze.
"During my life I only thought about the future. I never made any friends - I still find it a futile concept... But here I am, drowning you in my sorrows." She sighed.
"I understand what you mean, despite doing the opposite - you know, only thinking about now."
"I know it's weird, but... Could you show me the ways of the extrovert? I beg of you. It'll only be for one month - give or take a week. Then I'm leaving, you'll never see me again." She pleaded.
"Sure. Anything for the weird girl I only just met." I smirked and she raised an eyebrow at me.
"We attend the same school, hence why I knew your name. Hence why I last time I saw you, you were throwing a carbonated beverage in a aluminium casing." I mean, some people just say a can of soda.
"I knew of you, Violet. People complain about how you reject them constantly." I said truthfully.
"I didn't realise." She yawned.
"Well, they wouldn't complain about you to you, would they?" I beamed like Cheshire Cat.
"You never know." She dipped her hand in the fountain and swirled the water around with her finger.
"Want to go to a party, Violet?" I asked.
"Baby steps?" Her eyes widened.
"No." I growled. "Yes or no?"
"Sure." She squeaked.
"You sound like a mouse." I chuckled.
"What music do you like?"
I got up and put my hand out for her. She took it and yanked herself up.
"I like... Metallica." I shrugged.
"They're okay. But Chronixx is seven times better." She said in such a matter-of-fact manner I didn't even question it.
"Do you have any party clothes?" I questioned.
"No-"
"Let's get some!" I pretended to be enthusiastic despite despising shopping with females.
"So, you had no obligation to be at this park today?" She asked.
"No. I just felt like it would be nice this morning..."
"I didn't have to be here either. I was just wondering about." She fiddled with the hem of her shirt.
"I hate shopping." I mumbled.
"It was your idea!"
"I thought you'd enjoy it. I'd like to be your friend-"
"You shouldn't befriend me. It should be... Strictly business." She said so fast it kind of dazed me.
"I'd find it extremely difficult to miss you." I shrugged.
"How incredibly rude!" She laughed as she rounded the corner onto the next street.
As I went around the same corner, I was greeted by the destruction she had caused. She had bumped into a man holding one clay vase and two huge, clay pots.
"I'm so sorry!" She apologised profusely and looked distressed as if she genuinely cared.
"You're going to have to pay for those! They costed me thousands! They were from that art exhibition! How dare you! Stupid, clumsy slut!" He roared, his face turning an anger-induced crimson.
"How dare you! You can't just verbally attack a poor girl that accidentally bumped into you. She simply went around a corner, she wasn't looking for you. It was purely an accident, jackass." I said as calmly as I could. I stood up for a girl I barely knew which was unlike me (usually being the one siding with the other).
"Even if it was an accident, she should have to pay for it!" The man in a sweater vest growled at me.
"You walked into her." A girl from the crowd that was starting to form around us shouted at him.
"That's true actually. You couldn't see because of the pots." Another person agreed.
"Come on, Violet." I pulled her away from the scene by her hand.
"You called him a donkey." She grinned after a while of walking in silence.
"Well, yes, but not really." I replied.
"You're still holding my hand, bro." I looked down to see that indeed I was.
"Sorry." I let go.
"Don't be sorry, just don't get attached." Her edges of her lips turned upwards, performing a small smile.

Author's note
Hey! My real name is Olivia and this is my book. I'm not that great when it comes to grammar so I had RoseSareRubieS go over it. She doesn't often edit so excuse her if she's missed parts. When she sent it back it was like reading a different story 😂
Hope you enjoyed it
