Josh's POV
The next day Cory, Topanga, and Auggie went to go help Shawn and Katy since no one had work or school that day. Riley decided to invite her regular friends over for a movie.
I went to go sit next to Maya on the couch while Riley was getting ready. I put my arm around her and she looked up at me with her beautiful blue eyes. Is it just me or does she get more beautiful everytime I see her...
"Boing?" She asks.
"Yeah..." I say.
"You do realize your arm is around me? Right?" She questions.
"Yeah I do...do you want me to move it..."
"No! I mean..no it's fine. It's just gonna take some getting used too." She replies.
"Well, get used to it because I like you and I know we aren't gonna be together soon but one day we may be and you will need to get used to it then." I state happily.
The truth was I hope I am right.
Maya's POV
Josh had his arm around my shoulders and I was actually happy. Now we wake for people to show us I guess.
"So you still like me then?"
"The truth is Maya I don't think I'll ever stop liking you." Josh chucked softly. "It's just so hard right now...and it probably would be best to wait."
"Okay all I was asking was if you still liked me not if you wanted to be with me." I laughed and he blushed a bit.
"So how's college going for ya?" I asked.
"A bit different from high school only because your freedom is way bigger. The work is harder though but it'll always get harder."
"Does that go for later in life too?" I asked.
"Hopefully not." He replied grabbing my hand and looked me in the eyes. He knew exactly what I was thinking and it was kind of nice.
"Hopefully it'll get easier one day." He whispers and kissed my hand.
Right as he did that 5 familiar faces came from the hallway. Josh and I quickly moved apart. No, we aren't together, but we didn't need people thinking we were. We had to be natural the only person who knows somethings up is Riley.
"Did we..um..interr.." Riley was saying until we both cut her off.
"No!" We said in unison maybe a bit too loudly too.
"Okay..." She said.
"We were just talking..that's all."
"Okay...so can we stop being weird and watch a movie already?" Farkle asks.
"What do you guys want to see?" Riley proceeds. "How about Marley and Me? I heard that was a cute movie..I've never seen it though..."
"I think it's best if you never do..." Josh says.
"What? Why not? I've seen plenty of movies I know it'll be great! And in the end there will be a happy ending like always!"
