"Hazel, wake up!" Lauren yelled and hit me with a pillow.
"Ughhh." I'd groan and slide the pillow onto my face.
"Come on, we're gonna be late for our plane!" Sophia ripped the comforter off of me.
I'd groan again, opening my eyes slowly. "Go away. I'm enjoy my sleep and you guys are ruining it."
"Sorry sleeping beauty, but we have a plane ride and you're going to make us miss it."
I'd roll my eyes, looking at my clock. "It's 5 in the morning! The plane ride isn't until 8."
"You have to get ready. The rule is to always look good, no matter what." Sophia said, fixing her mascara.
I got off my bed, looking at my clothing. Plain sweatpants and a 5SOS t-shirt. I didn't always listen to them, I just wanted a t-shirt. "How are we friends?" I said before walking out of my room to head downstairs to eat.
I walk into the kitchen with my mom making eggs and my little brother, Justin, eating almost all the bacon.
"Hey! Don't eat it all, pig." I push Justin away from the island table.
"You shouldn't be talking, Hazel. You ate all the bacon last time. I'm just returning the favor." Justin took another piece of bacon and sat down at the kitchen table.
"Well there better be a receipt because I won't be needing the favor." Justin rolled his eyes but he grinned, letting me know I won the argument.
"Excited for Hawaii?" My mom said, sliding the eggs onto separate plates for me and my friends.
I talked with my mouth full of eggs. "Yeah. I still can't believe you allowed for us to go."
"Well, next year you guys will be seniors. So we figured to let you guys have fun. Just don't get into trouble."
"I- We won't. By the way, where's dad? I wanted to say goodbye." I finished off my bacon, starting with my eggs.
"He left for work. He told me to say bye." Mom said.
"Well, bye. I guess?" I said confused.
"Lauren, stop taking my bacon!" Sophia slapped her hand.
"I ate all mine, I'm hungry!" Lauren pouted as she reached for Justin's when he wasn't looking.
"Why are you guys here anyway?" I asked, finishing my eggs.
"What? Did you want us to leave you here, not in Hawaii?" Sophia asked, smirking.
Sophia is the girly-est one in our trio. She was the type to love makeup and be extremely stylish. I don't know how we're friends, but I've known her since 2nd grade. So I guess she grew on me. She has a blonde-brown hair and bright blue eyes. She wasn't popular. But honestly she could. She had the sass and the beauty.
"Well no, but-" I said before Sophia cut me off.
"Exactly, Hazel." She'd roll her eyes and laughed.
''Hey, Hazey. Can we get going? I want to get there early. There's a mini shop at the airport that's on clearance.'' Lauren said.
Lauren was the athletic one. She's pretty too but she doesn't care much about her appearance. High pony tails is the only thing she put her hair up in. She tries all sports, whether she's good at them or not. Which she pretty much rocks every single one. She has dark brown hair and blue eyes with green specks. I can see how we we're friends since kindergarten. I'm in the middle of them both but closer to sporty. Not to mention she was always sassy. She's the only one who calls me Hazey.
''I'm pretty much ready. What are we waiting for?" I stand up to go wash my hands.
Lauren and Sophia exchanged worried looks, and before I could even get use the soap they yanked me to the upstairs bathroom.
''No, guys. I'm fine!'' I would whine.
''No, you need help. Wear these joggers.'' Sophia narrowed her eyes. ''I'll find a shirt.''
I changed into the plain grey joggers, not really seeing the difference. I switched the t-shirt to a maroon, plain t-shirt and put on my All Star White Converse. Although they weren't white anymore. I put my hair into a messy bun, and thank god the girls didn't fuss about that.
''Okay, let's go!" Lauren whined at the threshold of the door.
''Wait, she needs to do her makeup!'' Sophia stated grabbed her blending brush.
My eyes widened as I ran into my room to grab my one traveling bag, running down the stairs.
I set my bag down on the floor, pulling my mom into a hug.
''Be good, honey.'' My mom warned playfully as she kissed my cheek.
''Mom, come on. The only one who'd potentially get in trouble is Soph.'' I said and looked at Sophia as she scrunched her eyebrows and stuck out her tounge at me. I chuckled and walked over to Justin.
''Peace out, 'lil bro. Don't annoy mom too much. That's supposed to be my job." I said as I messed up his hair. He groaned and pushed me away, smiling.
''Just leave already, loser.'' He said jokingly.
''Whatever, knucklehead.'' I chuckled and grabbed my bag, heading out of the house and into the chill air.
We got into Sophia's car and I put in my earbuds, drowning out her and Lauren's odd conversation about avocados.
This'll be fun.
