2: Don't you feel that?

Start from the beginning

This mother…can’t he just shut up and let me get out what I was going to say?

“Can I speak now or will you just cut me off again?”

I spat at him, I was seconds from doing more than that. Who did this jerk off think he was? GOD?! No, he was just some two bit Alpha who has pants on too tight and it was cutting off the blow flood to his head.

With an amused smirk he motioned with his hand for me to continue. I was shocked. I should be dead or close to it by now, instead he was standing here letting me tell him off? I didn’t get it.

“I get it, I hit a member of a pack…and broke another. But my actions were not unjust, I don’t want a fight. I just want to leave.”

He studied me for a moment before reaching out and grabbing my arm. He wasn’t like his beta, he was gentle, as if I were made of glass. Pulling me close to him, his arm snaking around my waist.

“Don’t you feel that?”

He asked, genuinely confused.

I could feel small tingles running up and down my body, my stomach muscles clenching as I inhaled his sweet woodsy scent. Without thinking my body pressed closer to his, wanting to let his heat burn me.

A deep, throaty moan brought me back to reality. Trying to push him away, but he wasn’t having it.

“Let me go!”

I snapped, bringing my foot down on top of his. He hissed in response as his hold loosened enough for me to slip out.

“Touch me again and I will cut that off!”

Pointing to the erection that was clearly visible through his tight jeans. Shock and hurt flickered in his eyes as he, once again, took to studying me.

“Let me speak to your wolf.”

His command held the Alpha tone but since I wasn’t part of his pack, it had little effect on me. Though something inside me did stir at the tone.

“My what? You want me to shift? Why?”

For a moment he looked at me like I was mad but quickly recovered. Taking a step towards me, his brow lifted as he spoke.

“Don’t you know how to bring your wolf to the front? Let her speak for herself without being in wolf form?”

Now it was my turned to look at him like he had just fallen off the banana truck.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about! I can’t do that because I don’t have a wolf, I mean I have one but it’s me?”

It came out more of a question than the statement I wanted it to, due to the fact that he was staring at me funny. There was a mix of emotions crossing his features, but confusion was the predominate one.

“Do you have a voice in your head that speaks to you? Not your thoughts but a separate creature that lives inside you?”

“What the fuck? I’m not crazy, I don’t hear voices and I don’t have someone or something living inside me!”

This dude was nuts. Off his rocker. Certifiable! Needed a one way ticket to looneyville, on the short bus, wearing a strait jacket and a helmet!

As if reading my thought, but more likely it was written all over my face, he took the last step between us holding up his hands.

“You don’t have a wolf…ok, but you can shift right?”

I gave him the ‘are you fucking kidding, dumbass?’ look to which he chuckled. He just laughed! Like I had told the world’s funniest joke, kind of laugh.

“Yes, I can shift you twat! Would we be standing here if I couldn’t?”

As soon as the word twat came out of my mouth his laughter stopped. I just couldn’t keep my mouth shut, could I?

“You really need to work on that mouth of yours. Come with me. That isn’t a request.”

“Why? So you can kill me?”

I said before my brain could tell my body to do as he said, and to do it without speaking.

“No one will harm you, Dallas. I don’t want to kill you, I want to get to know you.”

Ignoring the shiver that ran through my body at the sound of my name leaving his lips, I gathered all my strength to speak without sounding like an idiot.

“Trust me, you don’t.”

I said as I turned on my heel I flicked my hands forward and spoke again.

“Lead the way.”
