✿When They're Clingy

✿Light

The bell rang through the whole school, signalling the end of class and the start of lunch break.

You quickly shoved all your books in your bag, slung it over your shoulder and headed out.

Light was waiting for you outside your class. How he got there so fast, you didn't know.

As soon as he caught sight of you he wrapped his arm around your waist and kissed your cheek.

"Um, h-hi" you stuttered, startled by the sudden affection.

"How was class?" He asked as you both walked to the school canteen, students flooding from their classes and into a seemingly never ending sea of of rabble.

"It was pretty boring" you answered simply.

Light nodded and said nothing more. You noticed that he had been unusually clingy recently, not that you minded. It was nice to receive some extra attention from him once in a while.

When you got to the cafeteria you saw that it was pretty empty, most people were probably eating outside as the weather was nice.

You handed Light your bag so he could take it over to your usual table and you would collect food for you both.

He took it from you but stood where he was, waiting in line with you.

"Light, you can go grab our seats" you told him, confused as to why he wouldn't move.

"No, I want to stay with you" he replied, pulling you closer to him.

You smiled and nodded. You loved this side of him. Whatever brought this on was great.

You rested your head on his shoulder, him reacting to this by kissing your head softly and mumbling an 'I love you' into your hair.

L was being unusually clingy today. At first you thought he might just be tired, but you knew there was something more to it.

You were currently lying together on the sofa. His arms around your waist and head resting in the crook of your neck.

"Lawliet?"

He hummed a sleepy response.

"Are you...are you okay?" You asked. It was a simple question but you seriously wanted to know if he was upset or something.

"Yes, why do you ask?" He replied, leaving a small kiss on your neck.

"It's just that you're being unusually affectionate towards me today and...I'm not sure. I just worry about you" you sighed.

"There is nothing wrong with me, I just felt that I don't show you enough affection but if you're uncomfortable with it then I'll leave you alone" he said monotonously.

"I do like it, I was just surprised" you admitted, feeling your cheeks burn.

L smirked and pressed his lips against your own before pulling away and resting his forehead against yours.
