A different POV, let me know what you think.

Draven opened the door slowly not wanting to wake up a sleeping Thelea, it was already three in the morning and he didn't realise how late it was till he looked at the time. He placed the folders on bookshelf staring at the lump on his bed.

Quiet and motionless, she was fast asleep.

Taking off his reading glasses he chucked them onto the bookshelf carelessly, running a hand down his face, he could only imagine the shit that would get thrown at the meeting tomorrow. How did he let it come this far? He was annoyed at himself but more annoyed at the other packs that called themselves allies

He walked into the bathroom to brush his teeth and change into something more comfortable to sleep in. With the arrival of his cousin, and adopted sister he just knew things were going to get more difficult. And Thelea, oh Thelea, what was he going to do with her?

He looked in the reflection of the mirror frowning, running hand over his jawline, he needed to shave before the meeting. But that could wait.

He walked back into the room setting up a make shift bed on the ground, his wolf was already restless in her presence and he wasn't going to risk his stupid wolf doing anything reckless to damage the progress he had made. He was being as patient as he could but it was testing his wolf's limits, hell, it was testing his at times.

He looked over when he heard a strange sound, "Seamore" he muttered as his eyes narrowed   at the crab or lobster, whatever the fuck it was, that was freely walking up and down her arm, a part of him jealous that she let the crab touch her more than he ever could.

"It better be a female crab." he muttered as he put down more pillows and blankets, it was going to be a hard surface to sleep on and after his long day all he wanted to do was cuddle up to his mate, but he realised day by day it was going to be a long time before his mate realised who he was to her.

He phone vibrated in his pocket and he looked down to see who would be texting him this late, Jaxon, informing of the change of patrols.

He took the vibrate feature off in case it woke her up, grabbing a blanket he placed it on her when he noticed something. Draven leaned in closer, that didn't look right. Small markings, like a bruise around her neck.

But they weren't a bruise because they looked so perfectly made, like someone painted them on her. It was very faint, but his wolf eyes picked it up from the close proximity. As she stirred he got a better view, fish scales?

But it was oh so very faint that only his wolf eyes picked up in the faint light. Maybe he was seeing things.

He couldn't quite remember if her scales went up that high, there was something else about the skin he noticed that wasn't there before. He looked at her closed eyes, making sure she was still sleeping before he ran a finger under her collarbone, it felt like sandpaper.

Like her skin was damaged. That's not right. Curiosity got the better of him, he looked at the bedside cabinet that had a water glass. For some reason he just felt like he had to test out this crazy theory in his head, he dipped a finger in the water, before running it across the same spot, and watched as all water disappeared into her skin.

Shit.

He wasn't seeing things was he? Surely he wasn't that sleep deprived. He tried it again, and the same thing happened. Draven tilted the glass, just enough for a small amount of water to tip out, and her skin kept absorbing the water till a certain amount and then it rejected it,  he watched the water drop run down her skin till it disappeared under the blanket and he tried to control his mind from wondering where that drop went.

And think about more important things, such as her skin was dying. She was dehydrated. And that wasn't good.

He could call her dad tomorrow. He pulled the blanket higher, and Seamore came out much annoyed that his breathing air was taken.

"Deal with it." He muttered annoyed at the crab, all it did was wave its stupid snippers at him, "At least you get to share a bed." He settled on the cold hard floor.

* * *

Draven stirred in his sleep feeling something on him, nothing heavy, but it wasn't light either, the weight was oddly comfortable though. He opened his eyes coming face to face with hair. What the- He sat up confused when he realised the hair belonged to a body and the body belonged to his mate, deep in sleep with an arm thrown over his lower waist.

He untangled himself from her hair before he tugged on it accidentally that woke her up and got up, he slept in. Crap.

He ran a hand down his face realising in only a few more hours he would have six alpha's in his meeting room, and a curious mate he needed to distract. More or so, distract the alpha's on seeing her.

How could he forget this was the week and he recklessly bought her here. Draven's wolf was even more annoyed that his mate was going to be surrounded by other alpha's, who were curious and nosy. Yet he couldn't confine her into a room, that wasn't fair to her.

There would be a time when he would parade his mate around but that wasn't till Thelea understood how the world worked and right now she was far too innocent for him to throw her to the canines.

He lifted her body up, it felt like lifting air up, and placed her back on the bed wrapping the blanket around her tighter and secretly hoping she would sleep for a bit longer. Of course Sir Seamore was fast asleep, the stupid crab was living the life.

Draven reached for his phone as he went into the bathroom to get ready.

"What do you mean it's not done?"

Preston shifted on his feet uncomfortable telling the Alpha he forgot to do the report, he didn't want to face the wrath of Alpha Draven, which no one wanted, and everyone knew how bad he was. Just staring at the brooding Alpha was enough to send most wolves running.

"Preston." Draven said irritated, "Go do it now, you have forty five minutes to finish it." Preston nodded more than happy to get out of the office room, rushing past Jaxon.

Draven looked up as Jaxon came in, looking tired from his patrol, "I know you want to sleep but I need to ask you a favour."

Jaxon already knew what it was, "Yes Alpha."

"Can you watch over Thelea today, just...keep her out of trouble, and out of sight" The corner of Jaxon's lips nearly quirked up seeing the look on his Alpha's face, he nodded, "Of course." quickly hiding his semi smile before Draven saw it.

"Take her into town with Mia or something, actually no, keep her in our territory. Just make her watch a movie in the theatre. Keep her away from the water."

Jaxon nodded. He couldn't let her near the water, as much as Thelea wanted it and his wolf knew with yesterday's discovery she needed the water, he couldn't risk any other wolf in sight spotting her, not today.

He could sneak her out later.  It was ridiculous, an Alpha dodging lower ranks but he knew what her father said had to be abided by.

Draven leaned back in his chair sighing, forgetting Jaxon was still there. Whilst Jaxon was not the beta, he knew more about Draven than anyone did. He knew the vulnerabilities the great Alpha had, more than Preston. And he knew what made the alpha tick, and what made him bend.

Draven looked up noticing Jaxon was still there, "That's all,"
