Falling

  • Dedicated to my parents, for reminding me of this constantly

Swirling, twirling,

In the air;

Spinning round and round.

I am dizzy,

And afraid.

That I'll hit the ground.

I don't know

What to do next;

I wish I'd been taught to fly.

I'd been told

I'd be falling down,

But I want to touch the sky.

But wait!

My wings I can extend,

My panic is no more.

Because I am a newborn bird

Flight is something I can't ignore.

Thoughts form inside my mind

My insinct tells me what to do.

No longer am I falling, flailing,

And I bid the ground adieu.

I soar upwards, to the sky

This revealation still anew.

I have just learned how to fly

And I hope that you will, too.

When we are young, we are like small birds that have just been born. We are awkard, jerky, and have no idea what to make of the world. Suddenly we are pushed out of the nest, our home, and into the world; and we have no idea what to do. However, with the right guidance, we can soar to great heights and accomplish great things. I wish you the best in accomplishing your goals, because although they might be hard, you can make it.
