{Part 4} ~My best friend~

*Chara's POV*

Is this for real or am I dreaming once again? I wondered as I was following Asriel and his parents to the  table.. I feel so safe right now! I feel so full but empty at the same time... What's really missing?

I left my random thoughts for now and sat in the table..

-Chara, my child would you like a piece of butterscotch pie along with some golden flower tea? Toriel asked me with a big smile on her face

-Yes I would...mom.. I replied hesitantly..

-Mom? Oh golly Asgore!!! It's meant to be!! This fulfills our family, Toriel blinked her eyes in surprise.

-Oh Tori!! I feel the same way too!! Hey small one, would you mind calling me dad?

-Y...yes dad!! I responded quietly..

-Chara can I ask you a question? Asriel said without changing his childish excited expression

- Sure.. you can Asriel!!

-How was you life as a human?? What's the human world like? Asriel asked curiously 

Suddenly I lost my balance.. My tragic memories from the cruel world of humans shattered every single little piece of my temporary happiness.. What could I say? I can't let Asriel and my new family know about my past.. Besides, I don't want to be a burden to them with my depressing problems..It's not their fault..

- Ch.. Chara are you alright? Asriel said while patting my back softly..

- I'm sorry, It's nothing.. It's just that I'm not hungry anymore..Can you please tell me if there is a place for me to sleep?

- Of course my child.. I knew you might have been tired so we will take you to your room!! I hope you don't mind sharing the same room with Asriel.. You will have your own room when we move to the Core once it's designed! Toriel told me...

- I don't mind I would love to share a room with my best friend!!! I said trying to hide my sorrow behind a fake smile

- Yayy!!! Asriel screamed. Let me show you our room Chara!!! Asriel said and suddenly grabbed my arm and led me to the room.

He opened the door and suddenly I found my self in the coziest and strangely most familiar place I had ever been!!!

-So this is my room Chara!!! I hope you like it it's not the best but...

-I love it!!!

- Huh? Well I am so glad!!! Finally I have a friend that will UNDERSTAND me.. Asriel said with a highly relieved look in his cute face.

- But why do you have 2 beds in your room brother? I asked him..

-Well Chara.. I have to tell you.. Asriel sat on the fluffy carpet inviting me along his side.. "I.. never really had any friends.. Mom and dad had decided not to have another child and tried to find excuses to me in order not to be sad.. But.. you see.. I had understood the situation long ago.. My only options were to either  stay ALONE forever or find soulless friend.. For example, My recent "friend" was a golden flower.. I kept it in my room, play with it, talk to it until, it dried out and decomposed... My loneliness made me suffer until I found you Chara.. My best friend..

-Asriel I know I came here all of a sudden but I want you to know that I haven't had a good past.. I had a miserable life living with  cruel humans.. But let's just talk about it some other time because now that I found you I want to have a great time with you.. You will be my BEST FRIEND Asriel..

Both mine and Asriel's eyes had watered so we released our emotions by hugging together. 

- You are the only one in this world that understands me Chara!! Thank you!

- For what Asriel? I murmured as I was sobbing in happiness tears

-For existing! Asriel cried

That moment my life had completely changed. This is so different from what I thought life could be.. So far I was hated by everyone.. So far I was being a slave... an item.. AN UNDETERMINED SCUM OF THE HUMANITY.. But now.. Asriel came and destroyed these feelings from my soul replacing them with DETERMINATION, HOPES, DREAMS, FULLNESS, HAPPINESS.. I'm finally home..

A moment later me and him played with his toys.. oh well, OUR toys.. Then we both slept to our beds...
