This happened to me with last month's period. This one night, I had bad abdominal pain and a cough but the cough was unrelated. Anyway, my mom told me that it was the pain that some girls get during ovulation but for me that wasn't the case. After that night, I got my period. I was sick also during that time so it was worse. Then after I went to sleep I didn't try to sleep. I thought that cough I had was going to keep me up until 2 am like last night. I was on Google, I googled my symptoms, I thought I had something serious but I didn't. It turns out I had PMS or PreMenstrual Syndrome and abdominal pain was one of the symptoms along with other symptoms I was having during that time. I'm ok now and I'm just glad I didn't have anything serious.
