"There's a God watching over you. He'll know where you are, he'll know what you'll do. There's a God keeping an eye on you. He'll punish your sin, he'll know where you'll go, he'll know where you've been." Those were the words she sang to herself, way back when... When she believed that her faith was the fuel and strength that had kept her pure all this time. The young girl had been taught into dedicating her life to this "beliefs." Arica Burnley, the young girl, was pure and kind hearted, in other words "innocent." She had never, told a single lie, disobeyed mother and father, stolen or hurt a single soul. Arica was innocently simple.
Until, one afternoon she had gotten lost in the woods. The sun had been setting and it was soon to get dark. The moon was shining big, you'd almost say it looked romantic. For Arica the moon was a relief, it was the only thing providing light upon the dark forest. Although there was moonlight, it was not bright enough for her to see clearly. The night was cold and quite. The night had tackled the day, and Arica was more lost than she had been before. Soon enough, while looking deeper into the woods, all she could feel was nothing but an ominous feeling from what laid ahead.
With no regret at that moment, she walked straight ahead. Not having eyes like a cat, Arica could only see shadows and unclear shapes. The night was unexpectedly quite. Giving the young girl an aching feeling In her stomach, because the silence made her realize how far she was from home. How far she was from anyone and pointing out the fact, she was all alone. No sound, barely light, she wandered blindly. All of the sudden she started to get that feeling, anxiousness, and then she saw it. A swiftly fast and ghost like figure passed by her. It was as if her eyes were playing tricks on her, but she swore what she saw was real. Later, the thing approached her, And after that night... She was never the same. What the "thing" had given her that night, made it clear that what she saw was in fact real.
Arica had not returned since that night, her parents were worried sick. Later one morning, a little girl wandered through the same woods that Arica had, the night of her strange encounter. It was then, at that moment that the little girl had the image of a disturbing scene embroidered onto her brain. Underneath a willow tree laid the body of a young girl covered in blood. The little girl screamed in horror and ran to find her father, who had been wandering the woods as well. The little girl had found her father, who had ran to her after hearing her screeching scream. "It was horrible daddy!" The little girl said. She had pointed towards the direction where she'd seen it, the murderous picture. The father went to check it out, he was stunned and upset with the fact that his little girl had to witness such a thing. "Daddy?" The little girl said quietly from a distance.
"Sugar, go home and find your aunt!" Said the father. The little girl followed her daddy's orders. She ran to her family's cabin that was near to find her aunt. Meanwhile, the father shook as he reached towards his back pocket for his phone.
Dialling the number, a voice later spoke through the phone, "9-1-1 what's your emergency?"
"Hello? Yes, I'd like to report a... d-dead body," the father said.
"Sir, please give us your name and your location."
"My name is Roger McWilson, and my location is in the Kelvin Woods in the north, near the famous Kelvin Klein road. It's a young girl and uh-I, just please hurry... Please," the father said in a shaky voice. The police told him that they were on their way and then he soon hung up.
The little girl had ran to the cabin to find her aunt. She told her aunt about what she had seen in the woods with her father. The aunt calmed down the little girl and reassured her that everything was going to be okay. The aunt later called the father to clarify on what had happened. "Roger what happened, Megan told me about what she and you saw in the woods! Please tell me it's not true..." the aunt said, hoping the answer was no but she knew it wasn't going to be.
"It's true, I'm looking at her right now... I already called the police they're on their way."
"I'm on my way, I'll get Mrs. Wright to look over Megan."
"No, Natalie stay with her don't come here. Just don-" but the aunt had hung up before Roger could of finished his sentence. Natalie took Roger's daughter to Mrs. Wright, who was the old lady next door that they had know for years. Luckily Megan loved Mrs. Wright, and Mrs. Wright loved her. So it was no trouble to leave them together for a while. After Natalie had dropped of Megan, she headed towards the direction of the woods that Roger would always take. The trail that would lead them to the old witches' wishing well. It was a path Roger and Natalie would always take as kids that would take them to a wishing well.
There were a bunch of legends surrounding the well. One of those legends was that two witches had stumbled upon a well in the woods. One of the witches had realized that the well could grant wishes and had kept it from the other. Throughout all the years, the one witch who knew about the well's power used it for her own advantage. She had used the well's power to become better than the other witch. Years later, one of the witches had fallen inlove. But the witch who had, had everything was jealous. So on the night of the wedding the witch ran to the well, but she was not aware of the fact that she was being followed. When the selfish witch made her selfish wish, "I wish Amelia's fiancé fell in love with me instead." Amelia, the other witch, had heard her.
"How could you!" Amelia was furious, and she pushed the other witch into the well. Then Amelia cursed the well so that the selfish witches' soul would be trapped in there for eternity.
