Right before the school year is a great time to try harder about your appearance and attitude. Before you start going all out trying to start a bunch of habits, think about what you'll really do. It takes about 30 consecutive days to keep or break a habit. When you first start working on a habit, it's gonna take some time for your body to adjust. Overloading your brain with a bunch of new habits at a time isn't good and it's not going to help your situation.

Steps to Starting a New Habit
Start with 1 or 2 new habits and keep them up for two weeks.

Add another habit to the mix after those two weeks.

Keep all three of your habits for another two weeks. Your body will adjust to the first two habits by now.

Add another 2 habits. The first two habits will already be normal for you, so you shouldn't have to think about it much.

After two weeks, add another habit. Your third habit should be dialed in by now.

Repeat this process until all the habits you want are dialed in.

Notes: Some smaller habits such as washing your face and brushing your hair before bed can be conjoined.

Steps to Stopping a Bad Habit:
It's easier to replace a bad habit with a new habit, rather than simply holding off. Refrain yourself from the bad habit as long as possible by doing other things. Flicking yourself with a hair tie or rubber band when you think about doing it is a popular way to stop. Keep it up till you no longer think about your habit.
