Chapter 4

"Thank you"

Those were the last words Soo-Ah said to me before the stepped out of my car. Her scar on her hand and her bruised side was really concerning me. I hit the gas petal and turn around to go home.
I step into my house, put down my bags, and crash onto my bed. That hospital chair wasn't comfortable whatsoever.

I wake up around 2:00pm, and since I got home at 11 those 3 hours of rest really paid off. I was wide awake so I decided to go check on Soo-Ah.

We've been best friends since 7th grade. Soo-Ah and I had classes together and somehow we suddenly clicked. This year is our first year out of school and we never really had much friends growing up so we rely on each other for everything.

I get to her house and it took me forever to find her. She was laying on her bed, listening to I'll be O.K by Ailee on repeat, going through valentines gifts, and crying.

Dong-Yul and Soo-Ah were like the Barbie and Ken of our high school. They did everything together and they always showed each other love and affection. I'm the single friend who always witnessed their cute relationship and when Soo-Ah needed a third wheel, I was there. I assumed that they were eventually gonna get married one day so this drama that just happened really shocked me.

When I saw Soo-Ah crying I couldn't help but cry along. I've never had a boyfriend so I couldn't imagine this happening to me. I didn't say anything to her, I just sat by her and comforted her.

"Why?! Why did he cheat on me." Sulked Soo-Ah. I placed my hand on her shoulder and hugged her tightly to let her know I care. She dropped her head on my shoulder and let it out. We were both crying for a good 30 minutes when she finally stopped. Soo-Ah wiped her nose and tears with Dong-Yul's jacket and quickly threw it to the ground. At that moment I knew, Soo-Ah wasn't upset anymore. She was angry.

"Ugh I wanna punch this girl!" Yelled Soo-Ah as she stomped out of her room and into the kitchen. She grabbed out the bottle of wine she got for their anniversary yesterday and poured her and I some. When we both finish the whole bottle she runs outside and smashes it in her back yard. Soo-Ah's determination to make Dong-Yul feel sorry made me really proud to be her friend.

I go out to the grocery store and buy spray cans and fruit loops. Soo-Ah joins me to go to his house afterwards. I place fruit loops in his yard  while Soo-Ah spray paints his car with the word "cheater" across it. We get home and wait.

When it started raining later that night, Soo-Ah and I couldn't help but burst out laughing because we know that the fruit loops in his yard are staining the grass.
