Dani: Oh my god are we actually going to do this?

Jayda: I think..we are!

In less then a week we will all finally meet after four excruciating long years of texting and face timing. Coming from all of the country, and even from Portugal, and meeting up in California. Let me break it down for you, my name's Bryelle Baccam, and I just turned eighteen two days ago on June 16. I created a DM group chat on instagram four years ago because I was bored, and it was the best decision of my life.

Lorna is 21, turning 22 on July 10, and she lives in Cali so she's got all the hook ups. Possibly including, alcohol. Ah! I'm only 18 that's bad! *wink*.

Aura's 19 and she's my best friend, in real life. We didn't meet online, we met in eighth grade when our best friends at the time introduced us. Long story short they're gone and now Aura and I are BFF's. She's our group therapist and helps us through our issues whilst giving us pep talks.

Jayda, oh Jayda, she's 20 and probably my best online friend out of everyone. Sorry not sorry. We've face timed almost everyday and freaked out about random things that we take way to seriously and become overly compulsive about it.

Keona, Keona, Keona. She's very dirty, like sit on a guys bed naked and waiting dirty. I strive to be as confident and crazy as her some day, college is coming maybe then. Mama Shrek doesn't mess around, straight to the point.

Last but not least, Dani. She lives in Portugal and will have the longest flight to Cali. out of all of us. She's also 18 and is so excited, she's basically planned the entire trip.

Bryelle: Ok guys, my flights early tomorrow morning and I don't need my phone constantly dinging from the group chat. I'm muting you goodnight ily guys and can't wait to meet you all!!!<3

Dani: Byeeeee! ily 2

Jayda: BYE BITCH

Lorna: Jayda rude, night Bry

Jayda: Fuck off <3

Aura: Night night

I mute the gc, and  Jayda and I's chat because I know she was going to send random letters just to annoy me. My phone charger is laying on the floor, so I have to lean down and grab it in order to charge my phone. As I plugged it in, it makes that weird ding noise to tell me that it's charging, and shows the lock screen. My flight is at 5am and I have to wake up at 3am in order to get ready and board the plane, and it's midnight. Great, I might as well just stay up the whole night and sleep on my five hour plane ride from Des Moines to LA. Checking to make sure my alarm is still set and my ringer is on, I reach to unplug my fairy lights, and grab my iPad to watch some netflix. After about an episode of Grey's Anatomy, I'm out cold.

"Bryelle! Bryelle! Help me!" A girl screams as she flails her arms in the water.

"Hey! Wait!"

The water stops flying and as soon as my eyes focus on where she is or where she was, her body is gone.

"Heyy!"

Someone covers my mouth with their hands and pull me back from my neck. Um, ouch. I try to scream but the gloved hand muffles my cries. It smells of gasoline and I gag. Another person lifts up my legs and now I am fully off the ground. I struggle and kick but I'm too weak from all the crying. Not long after I'm tied up in a car with a blackout blindfold over my eyes.

Whoever kidnapped me pushes me out of the car and I fall flat on my face. I can feel the warm blood gush from my nose, and the strong smell of iron invades my head giving me a headache. They pick my up and push me until we reach wooden floors. I can smell the ocean salt and the sound of waves crashing against the shores. The blindfold is harshly ripped off my face and the sun blinds me. I get used to the light and look around. We're on a boat dock on the rocky coast, extremely rocky. Jagged, tall, sharp rocks spew out from the ground and the water swerves through them.

"Where are we? Why am I here?" I question while spinning around to see who brought me here.

Nobody is standing there. I feel cold, wet hands grasp around my arms and pull me backwards. I scream as I fall off the dock and into the freezing water, the waves dragging me down and around. I get up for air just in time to see a huge wave crash into me and a sharp pain goes through my body, starting from my back. The wave receded back and I'm laying on top of the knife rocks. I'm losing consciousness, but my eyes open once more to see another wave crash down on top of me, pushing and scratching my body around the rocks.

DING DING DING DING DING

I jolt up and take in a big gasp of air, I'm out of breath and sweating. Tears start falling out of my tear ducts and onto my cheeks, creating a pathway for the other tears to follow down and off my face. Reality sets and I panic to find my phone to stop the ringing alarm that was piercing my ear drums. I turn it off and pull off my duvet and sheet. I close my eyes and take a few deep breathes, I can't have these dreams in California. I will be with my best friends for a whole four weeks, and I will be happy. They don't need to know everything from my past, and I need to put it behind me. I hop out of bed and make it up, after turning on the ceiling light. Luckily, last night I made a list of everything I'm packing, now I just have to pack the items. I have an hour to pack, shower, clothe myself, and put on a little makeup. Probably wasn't the smartest idea not to pack before today, stupid bitch. I grab my notebook, it's a black college ruled book with a gold line down the left side about two inches from the seams. I open up to the page with my list and begin packing the things into my large maroon suitcase.
Bathroom toiletries such as: toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shaving cream, a shaver, and shampoo/conditioner. Just small things, small enough for air travel, I will buy bigger ones in Cali.
I'm packing five pairs of shorts, 2 black, 1 white, and 2 burgundy. One pair of black ripped jeans, and some grey knit joggers. I can't even tell you how many shirts I'm bringing, lets just say more than 10. All the other things like bras and underwear are too many to count for.
At about 3:34 I finished packing and rushed to take a shower. Multitasking I brushed my teeth while the water was warming up, and applied shaving cream. The rest is boring regular things, shaved every inch of my body, washed my hair, exfoliated my face and legs, and sang like I was on X Factor. I finished around 3:47 and quickly applied my eyebrow filler, concealer, eyeliner, and set my face with transparent powder. I pack all my makeup into a big black bag and stuff it in my suitcase. I pack a carry on with a phone charger, book, headphones, and a few toiletries such as "girl products"
Letting out a big sigh, I pull up on my suitcase handle and begin rolling it to the front door. My mom is waiting for me in the living room and comes to give me a hug.
"Have a safe trip Bryelle,"
"I will,"
I open the door and walk out.
"Bye mom,"
"Bye, be safe!" she yells at me from the door as I load in my suitcase.
A ten minute interstate drive and I'm ready to go through security. I valet my car and fast-walk to security check-in. Everything goes smoothly and right on time I make it to my gate. About five minutes later the plane boards and I'm on my way to California to meet my best friends. This is going to be amazing.

Hopefully.
