Part 12

Kyoski then sat up, looking and waiting for Elizabeth's reaction to the news. She just sat there, completely silent. She was so silent, that both could hear the loud crashes and bangs that occurred in the living room. It seemed some friends had stopped by to visit, Jaydin, Micheal, and Maia along with Garrett all seemed to be destroying the front half of the house. Sayeko just watched from a safe distance in the kitchen, nervously glancing over at the bedroom where Elizabeth and Kyoski were.

Elizabeth then finally reacted, all color draining from her face. "S-So what does that mean?! I-I can't die?!" Kyoski would try and calm her down, his expression apologetic. "That is what the rules of immortality state. And there is also another rule that goes along with this." He then pulled out his pocket watch. "Those whom are immortal are required to have a totem. With this totem, your soul remains protected against all sorts of danger and evil." Elizabeth was getting a little freaked out. "Danger and e-evil?"

Kyoski would nod, putting his watch away. He would then go behind Elizabeth, bringing out a small cauldron from their closet and pulling it in front of Elizabeth. "Seeing how you're immortal now, I'm going to need you to pick a totem so I can attach your soul to it." Elizabeth didn't know what she would pick for her totem, so many things came into her mind. Books, a mug, her keys, a special pen. None of them seemed to stick out much, that is until a better idea hit her. "I'll use this as my totem. They're always with me, so I will never lose them."

She had pulled off her glasses, handing them over to Kyoski. He would look Elizabeth in the eyes, a serious mood washing over him. "Are you sure you want to use these? This will be your last chance before I do the bonding process." Elizabeth nodded, "I'm sure." Kyoski nodded in confirmation, going over to the dresser. He would open a few drawers, pulling out bottles or many colors and sizes.

He began mumbling things, pouring in bottle after bottle. Soon, the room would have a light blue glow engulfing it. Kyoski then dropped Elizabeth's glasses into the cauldron, holding his hand out towards Elizabeth's chest area. "This next step requires some work from the owner. I want you to close your eyes and search for your soul. Do you think you can do that?" Elizabeth nodded, closing her eyes. It didn't take her much time to find her soul, her once serious expression changing to a mystified one.

Kyoski saw the change in Elizabeth's personality, speaking the next instructions. "Alright, now I want you to grab it and pull until you no longer feel any struggle getting your soul." Elizabeth was weirded out by the next step, but did what she was asked of once more. She grabbed hold of her soul, the slimy feeling sending shivers down her spine. She then began to pull, her soul slowly moving through her body and out into the open air.

Elizabeth would no longer feel the slimy sensation of her soul, but a warm fuzzy feeling. When she opened her eyes to see what the soft glow was, she would see that she had her own soul in her right hand. There would be dark splotches all around her soul, Kyoski gaining a worried expression at the sight. "Sayeko's calculations were off majorly. There's more black blood there than we should have expected."

When Kyoski spoke, he grabbed Elizabeth's soul carefully and gently, submerging it into the liquid. Then a small flash would come from the cauldron, Kyoski going back to his chanting and mumbling. Elizabeth continued to watch until the light from the cauldron began to slowly die down. Once the lighting in the room was back to normal, Kyoski pulled out Elizabeth's new glasses. On both sides of the glasses was the same light blue color from before running down the middle in a single strip.

Kyoski cleaned off Elizabeth's glasses, carefully handing them back to her. When she put them back on, she sat there a little confused. Still the noises from the other rooms still went on, Garrett seeming to be drunk and Jaydin seeming to fight her brother. Another loud crash would come from the living room, both Elizabeth and Kyoski getting nervous. One, because Sayeko was out there. And two, because it was the house that they lived in.

Both would rush out of the bedroom and down the hall. The sight before them led Elizabeth to want to slap everyone who caused the mess. Maia was in the corner, laughing very hard as she watched Garrett, Micheal, and Jaydin fling one another around the room. The ceiling would have a massive hole in it, and Jaydin would have a bloody nose. Garrett would shove Micheal off after he saw Elizabeth, pretending the fight wasn't his fault. "You guys, look at the mess you made! Elizabeth and I are so disappointed in you."

Everyone would stop their roughhousing, all staring at Elizabeth. Maia would leave her corner, giving Elizabeth an apologetic look. "Look, we're really sorry for the mess. We can clean it up if you want us to." Garrett would seem to be offended, "We? I did nothing to cause this mess!" Jaydin then pulled Garrett away from Elizabeth, "Look, Lizzie, it was all Garrett's fault for letting us in. If he would have told us you were busy this evening, we would have came back another time."

Elizabeth groaned, glaring at Garrett. "Why did you even let them into the house?!" Garrett would put his hands up in defense, "Listen, Elizabeth, this is all one big misunderstanding. I am aware this is my fault, but they-" Elizabeth would cut Garrett off, "No buts. Now, would our surprise guests please leave? You guys can swing by any other time except for now." Maia would be the first to leave, followed by Jaydin and Micheal. Garrett would do his best to try and leave with everyone else, but Elizabeth would stop him. "Clean this mess up. Now."
