I heard you say, "Die young and save yourself"

You put your heart on the highest shelf

And left it there

I heard you say, "Leave me. I'm better off dead"

You forgot everything that I've ever said

And that I cared

I heard you say, "Don't worry, it's okay"

You knew it was your last day

And you'd haunt my nightmares

I heard you say, "There's no room for you in this hell"

You thought you knew this world too well

And you shook out your hair

And decided you could fly.
