(y/n)'s POV

Lawliet and I decided that it was best if we went back to headquarters. We both thought that the others would grow even more suspicious if we don't go back. So I locked the door to my house, and we were on our way back.

"Hey, Lawliet?" I asked him as I kept my eyes on the sidewalk in front of me.

"Yes, (y/n)?" He responded.

"Are we going to tell the others that we're together?" I looked at him.

"I suggest that we don't, especially since Light is Kira." Lawliet said.

I sighed, I knew that we would have to hide it. Light would DEFINITELY use this to his advantage. I just wish that we don't have to hide it for long. I felt Lawliet stare at me, probably because of my sigh.

"You wish it was normal, don't you." It wasn't even a question, it was a statement.

"Leave it to you to hit the nail on the head, Sherlock Holmes." I laughed it off, even if it did bug me.

"Never, EVER, make those jokes again..." Lawliet glared at me, in which I pecked his cheek.

"Come on, Sherlock." I grabbed his hand and pulled him along.

"Geez.."

We arrived back at headquarters, standing in front of Lawliet's door.

"I'm tired so-"

"Do you wanna spend the night here?" He asked, almost in a whisper.

"I don't mind.." I said, avoiding eye contact.

"We did it before."

"DON'T SAY IT LIKE THAT!" I shouted.

"As you wish," Lawliet looked at the door then back at me, "now that you revealed to everyone that you used an alias, what are you going to tell them?"

My mind and body froze as I remembered what I said. I told everyone that I was using an alias, now they most likely expect me to tell them my REAL name. Damn it... I let my precious emotions get the best of me.

"Not my name." I whispered.

"Of course, if it comes down to this, we'll tell them that you're a new detective, (w/l/y/c). We'll just say that it's for protection, and that you will not reveal your real name." Lawliet said.

I nodded my head, I was still a bit nervous.

"Don't worry." I was then pulled into a hug.

I quickly hugged Lawliet back, not wanting to let go. I felt as if my courage and confidence was slipping away with each passing day, knowing that people are dying. Criminals and some innocent people are getting murdered, while I'm over here with Lawliet in a new relationship. We separated as Lawliet opened the door, my eyes went wide at the sight.

"Um.." I rubbed my arm with my hand, "Shouldn't you guys.. Be home by now?"

I was unsure what to say, especially since everyone from earlier was still sitting in their chairs.

"We were worried but while we waited we did some work." One of the guys said.

I sighed as I stole a glance at Light and Misa. They were staring at me, like I would disappear the minute they look away.

"There's nothing to worry about, if there was anything to worry about, it's all taken care of." I said as I stole a glance at Lawliet, who was staring at me.

I could tell in his eyes that he knew that Misa and Light were ready. Those two were ready to kill me the moment someone asks for my name.

"Are you sure? Don't hide anything from us." Yagami-san said, the tone in his voice immediately told me that he wants me to tell everyone the truth.

The truth... Is something I have to hide..

"Well, should we tell them, Ryuzaki?" I turned to Lawliet, who looked utterly confused.

"Oh, of course, that's if you want." Lawliet said, catching on.

"We were going to wait until we broadcast it to the public but we'll let you guys in on it," I took a deep breath, "I am (w/l/y/c), a new detective that'll work alongside the task force."

"What are you talking about?" Light spoke up.

"We decided that Hitomi will be using a letter to hide her identity, like me." Lawliet spoke up.

"What about the alias she's using now?" Misa asked.

Of course she would ask.

"It's to protect me, I may have known you all for a while but it's hard for me to trust people. If you're going to say, 'oh what about Ryuzaki?' My answer is that I may trust him more than you all, but it's not 100%." I said, secretly glaring at Light and Misa.

"So, 'Hitomi Kobayashi' is.." Matsuda trailed off.

"Yes. It is an alias." I finished for him.

"Two mysterious people, huh? Might as well date or something." Light muttered.

I silently snickered in my head when I heard those words.

Oh, you have no idea, Light.

Sorry, if this took a while, and I kinda made this a bit short, maybe..
But I had writer's block for this chapter but I have an idea of what to do for the next few chapters. I won't give spoilers for the rest of the book ;)

I feel like this was a bit rushed, I don't know but I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless.
