Chapter 14

Vanessa's POV
-
   I was a bit nervous because I didn't know what to tell Joel. I got closer to where Joel was standing and I took a deep breathe. Okay Vanessa, here goes nothing.

"Hi Joel."

"Hey Vanessa."

"Joel can I talk to you outside? It's kind of important."

"Sure, let's go."

We went outside where nobody was and we took a seat on the grass.

"Joel I need to talk to you about something really important."

"What happened Vanessa?"

"Look, I'm going to tell you something, but when I tell you promise me that you won't get mad at me or Yoandri or anyone else okay?"

"Okay. I promise Vanessa."

"I was talking to Yoandri and he told me all about your plan to keep me and Christopher away from each other. He also told me why you did it. I'm not mad at you, but I want to tell you that I only see you as a friend. You're a really great guy and any girl would be lucky to be your girlfriend, but I'm not that girl. I only see you as a good friend of mine and nothing more. I hope you understand and you aren't mad at me. I'm sorry Joel." I told him

Joel starred into me eyes for a while, but I couldn't tell whether he was sad, mad, or in shock.

"Joel, say something please." I said while taking his hand in mine

"It's okay Vanessa, I understand. Don't worry about it." he said with sadness in his voice

"I hope that one day you find a girl who will love you just as much as you love her." I told him as I gave him a kiss on the cheek and went to look for Yoandri.

I entered the apartment and I found Yoandri in the kitchen.

"What happened Vanessa? Did you tell him?" Yoandri asked

"Yea I told him already. Poor Joel, he looks so sad." I told Yoandri as I looked out the window staring at Joel who was still sitting in the grass outside.

"How'd he take it?" Yoandri asked

"Better than I thought he would." I said

"Well Vanessa, I think you should go look for someone." Yoandri said

"For who?" I asked confused

"Christopher obviously!" he said

"Oh okay. But what exactly am I supposed to tell him when I see him?" I asked

"How am I supposed to know? That's between you and him." he said as he went to look for the girl from earlier.

I was going to go look for Christopher, but first I had to go to the bathroom. I was leaving the bathroom and someone walked right by the door as I was opening it and I hit them.

"Sorry I wasn't looking when I opened the door. Are you okay?" I asked the guy I knocked over

I offered him my hand and helped him get up. When he got up I saw his face and it was Christopher.

"Vanessa !?"

"Christopher !?" I said while giving him a hug

"No lo puedo creer. No pensé volver a verte después de verte el otro día en el centro comercial." he told me

"Me viste tambien?" I asked him

"Sí. Iba a ir a buscarte, pero ya te habías ido." he told me

"No puedo creer que estés aquí, Christopher."

"¿Qué estás haciendo aquí?" he asked me

"Vivo en los angeles ahora." I told him

"¿De Verdad? ¿Cuánto tiempo has vivido aquí?" he asked

"Alrededor de un mes." I told him

"¿De Verdad? ¿Por qué no nos habíamos visto?" he asked

"Es una larga historia. Te lo explicaré más tarde." I said

"¿Como has estado?" he asked me

"He estado bien. ¿Tu como has estado?" I said

"Yo también he estado bien."

"Oye, ¿quieres salir de este lugar?" Chris asked me

"Si, vamos. La fiesta es un poco aburrida." I told him and we went outside

When I went outside I saw Joel sitting on the lawn with a girl. I'm glad he's starting to get over it. Chris and I held hands and we went for a walk around the neighborhood.
