Dave and I walked aimlessly around a firework tent, trying to find one we'd enjoy.
"What if we just go to my buddy's place?" Dave suggested.
"Sounds better than this!" I laughed.

"I'll call him real quick." Dave said, pulling out his phone.
"Hey, Lars, yeah. Can a friend of mine and I come over tonight?" Dave asked into the phone.
"You're doing fireworks right?" Dave questioned this Lars guy.
"Sweet. We'll be there."
He put the phone away and smiled.
"Lets head over." Dave said.
it was a couple miles to this guys house; and soon we got there.

Dave didn't even knock. He walked right in.
"Hey Lars!" Dave greeted his friend.
"The other guys are coming over too, that okay?" Lars asked. Dave frowned slightly.
"Yeah its fine." Dave shrugged.
"You're Dave's friend?" Lars asked.
I nodded.
"Im Lars." He introduced himself.
"Macy." I replied.

"She's so sweet Davie. Be good to her, man." Lars said after shaking my hand.
"Not together, dude." Dave said.

"Anyway, we got tents and shit, you guys wanna stay over?" Lars asked.
"Sure, you in Macy?" Dave asked.
I nodded.

A few hours later, it was getting dark and fireworks were starting, and people were arriving. Dave and I were in a lawn chair next to our tent. Yeah, we were sharing one.
He was sitting correctly, while I was laid across him, with my feet hanging over one arm of the chair and my back resting on the other.

"The guys are here." Lars told us.
I got up so Dave could and we waited for the guys to walk out.
There were 3 of them, two blonde and one with dark curly hair.
"James, Jason and Kirk." Lars said.

"This is Macy." Dave said.
I waved shyly.
"Jeez Dave, how'd you score this one? she's out of your league." Jason joked.
"We arent dating, but that doesnt mean you can hit on her." Dave said.

"She is pretty though, for real." Kirk said.
I grinned and hid behind my long hair.
"Yeah." Dave agreed, poking my side.
"Lets watch the fireworks." James said.

Dave and I returned to our chair and out previous position. Dave and I had our own tent, James and Kirk had one and Lars and Jason had one. It was a cool set up.

I was growing tired and laid my head on Daves chest, Lars lended me a jacket because it got cold, so I was really comfortable.

When I was half asleep, I was jostled around a little, but then returned to the comfortable position.
My head rolled back over to Daves chest, which was now without a shirt.
"Dave." I mumbled.
He didn't answer.
"Daveee." I tried again.

"Dave went to go get a drink." A barely familiar voice said just above a whisper.
I opened my eyes slightly to see Kirk, the guy with curly hair.
"Okay." I mumbled.
Kirk smelled good.
"Guys Dave passed out in the bedroom." Jason said.
Kirk laughed a little.
"You okay right here or do you want to go to sleep too?" Kirk asked.
"Im fine here if you are." I answered.
"Yeah, im good." Kirk said.

After a few minutes of dozing off in Kirk's arms, Dave came back and took me from Kirk.
"Thanks." I mumbled tiredly to Kirk.
He flashed a heart warming smile and I was carried back to the chair.
"Hey Dave?" I asked.
"Hm?"
"Can we go to sleep?"
"Sure thing." He answered, taking us to the tent.

"We're going to sleep guys." Dave told them.
He closed the tent and I laid down under the sleeping bag, and watched as Dave did the same.

"Did you have a good night?" Dave asked.
"Yeah, did you?"
"You were here, so of course." He smiled.

I laughed a little, and turned to face him.
"Im happy we ran into eachother." I told him.
"Me too. You're awesome to be around."

Silence surrounded us, with the occasional boom of a firework and a laugh from Kirk, James, Lars and Jason.

"Dave?"
"What?"
"I uh, gosh, um, I think I-I, er...Love you?" I whispered.
"More than friends." I added.

I closed my eyes, regretting my desicion to admit that.
I was mad at myself.

"C'mere girl," He said, pulling me into his chest,
"I love you Macy." He said, kissing my shoulder.
"I love you too Dave." I replied, hugging his arm that was around me.
