"Where are you going?" My father asked.
"Out."
"Don't make me ask again." He threatened.
"Im going to see a friend." I told him.
"Whats her name?" He asked.
I giggled to myself.
"Uh, Danielle?" I pretty much asked.
"You better come home." He warned.
I left without another word.

"Hey Danielle!" I said sarcastically, greeting Dave who was waiting in the driveway. We were going to go on a walk today.
Dave promised to give me something to do everyday so I had less time around me father.

"Danielle?" He questioned.
"Yeah, I had to make a cover up." I told him.
he just nodded.
He took my hand in his. It wasn't weird for either of us. It was like my own protection system. If Dave was close I felt safe. The world felt pretty dangerous, considering the damage done by my father.

"So, Dave, what music do you listen to?" I asked.
"I used to like Metallica, but not anymore. I like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest." He said.
I looked at him like he was a crazy person.
"You havent heard of either of them have you?" He asked.
"Nope. Why dont you like Metallica?" I asked.
"You'll find out if you stick around." He told me.
I didnt understand it, so I shrugged it off.

We went to a park and sat on the swings.
"Did you listen to the record?" He questioned.
"No I didn't." I told him.
"Do it tonight okay?"
"Ill try." I said truthfully.

"Is that your natural hair?" I asked after a few moments of silence.
"Yep."
"It looks wonderful." I laughed.
"Its awful to care for though." He told me, running a hand through it.

"Well I like it if it counts for anything." I told him.
"Thanks." He smiled.
I admired his smile.
It really was great.

"So you like Journey, anything else?" He asked.
"Queen, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen."
"Interesting. Hopefully we can add Megadeth to the list." He winked.
"Maybe." I yawned.

"Tired?"
I groaned in response.
"I dont want to go back." I admitted.
"Well, we can walk to my place and catch some sleep."

"You sure?"
"Positive."
We got up and he reached out for my hand as we walked.
Time was passing slowly and I just wanted to sleep.

"Right over here Macy." He said, pulling me with him as we walked up the driveway of a decent sized house. I was suprised to know that he was really close to my own house.

"Thank god." I muttered.
He opened the door for me and led me to a bedroom.
"You can sleep here, ill take the couch." he said.
"Dave." I said, grabbing his attention.
"I trust you. You can stay in here." I told him.
He tried not to let a smile through as he nodded and joined me on the bed.

As he always did, he laid his hand on my shoulder, so I knew he was there.
"Night Macy."
"Goodnight Dave."
