What We Shared

The passion we had was kinetic.

Our bones quivered in sync.

Our loping lips sent elastic waves through our bodies.

As we stripped each other down

Our cold hands melted each other's skin.

For a moment we were away from the world.

We flew to an exotic, erotic common ground.

There were no wrinkled sheets.

There were no noisy bed springs.

The laundry would never need to be turned.

Your naked flesh smelled warm and soft.

It cradled my heart like a pillow.

I relished in your heavy breaths.

I could feel your nerves screaming

To be touched, begging to be held.

Then you began to cry, though,

And I could feel you leave.

Suddenly our world became unplugged,

And much quicker than it came it left.

I could feel your fears as you cried in my arms.

You laid your head down on my chest

To look away as you wept.

Our naked bodies still laid tangled

On a messy, sheetless bed.

The cold air stung where your tears stained.

By the time I saw your beautiful eyes again

They had gone forever cold.

You never again looked at me the same,

Always with shallow eyes and a timid soul.

You left me to comfort your shell as you hid.

Our passion was fleeting, so our love collapsed,

Leaving a crater years wide between us.

Still we both know our journey was worth

Every second we spent in our nexus

United, engaged, exposed.

I always am looking for feedback, so if you have a comment, please don't be shy!
