The sweltering morning Californian sun was shining as the group of 9 scrambled happily out of their cars, chattering and whooping to one another excitedly. They dashed around, finding everything, before running like animals to the warm sand to set up their chairs and umbrellas and rugs and so forth, Nico marching behind them, a frown firmly plastered on his face.

"Why is Percy not helping set up?" Annabeth questioned half-annoyed, half-amused at her boyfriend splashing and waving in the waves.

"Because he's in his natural habitat. All good, we're done anyway" replied Piper with a smile.

"The sand is in my shooooes!"

"That's why you don't wear shoes to the beach, Nico" Jason rolled his eyes before laughing. "Come on, let's go join Anna's marine animal boyfriend."

They all kicked off their thongs and laughed, running and shoving each other, not at all attracting attention.

Nico rolled his eyes, before putting on his shades, and sat back on a beach chair, opening Pride and Prejudice back to where he was at in the car. He was up to the fourth word before Jason's annoying voice could be heard.

"Oi, Nico! Get. Here. NOW!"

Nico looked up from his page lazily, although secretly seething with rage, before returning his gaze to the page. He didn't bother to look up the second time, or the third, or the fourth. He also failed to realise that the voices were getting louder and louder until he looked up to see a Jason and a wet Percy grabbing him by the arms and pulling him up. He screamed.

"Oh my god! Why???? It's sooo hot! I'm getting skin cancer!"

"Nico, its 18 degrees (Celsius) and 10 in the morning." Jason interjected.

"I hate the beach"

"We don't care" they replied together.

Nico just pouted, as he finally gave up struggling and allowed his feet to drag behind in the sand as they pulled him to the rest of the group.

"Awww, look who's joined us!" Leo cooed. Nico just sighed before sitting down on the sand, hoping his clothes wouldn't get too dirty.

"Why aren't you in swimmers?" Piper asked.

"Ummm...because I hate the beach?" came the sassy response. He didn't get how, no matter how many times he said that, his friends were incapable of understanding that. How had they even convinced Nico to come today anyway? Jason had probably blackmailed him somehow... He yelped as the slightest wave almost hit him, before moving back further away from the ocean.

"Nico, get in the water now." Jason commanded, pointing downwards to the most definitely freezing cold ice bath that he stood in. Reyna, Leo, Hazel, Annabeth and Frank were playing in the ocean with the ball, Percy running up to join them in the waves. The ball was thrown at Jason's head, promptly hitting its target before sending said target straight off his train of thought, him now aiming the ball at a cackling Leo with a murderous glint in his eye.

"Don't mind me..." Nico muttered to himself slyly before taking this as an opportunity to run back to the umbrella and his beloved book. After a few seconds, he turned his head to see an angry Jason chasing him like a wolf, Piper laughing hysterically back with the rest. Nico began to run for his life (literally), before ramming straight into someone, lying on their wet chest after falling onto them. He could hear an obnoxious laugh somewhere in the distance. Nico groaned.

"Fuck me..." He looked up to see a smiling face 3 inches away from his and piercing light blue eyes staring straight into his.

"Hey." he said nonchalantly. Nico blushed, his cheeks scarlet and petrified eyes staring back in an 'I have a million courses of action I could take right now but I can't seem to do any of them' face.

"Hey." he snapped back in a frenzied, nervous tone.

"Will Solace" Ummm...what? Oh, his name. Right. Shit.

"Oh, ummm...Nico...Nico di Angelo"

"Cool. Do you usually meet people like this?" It dawned on him that he was still on top of this guy. He stood up quickly, and offered his hand. Through the corner of his eye, he could see Jason's shit-eating grin as he watched the situation intently. Will took his hand, brushed the sand off himself and smiled.

"I'm really sorry; I was running away from my fucker of a friend over there and I wasn't watching."

"All good dude" Will chucked. He was the typical surfer dude. His hair was slightly shaggy, but not scruffy. He was pretty toned and had a tan for days. He bent over to pick up his surfboard that he'd dropped during the fall. Nico tried to discreetly fix up his hair. Because that's what you do when meeting new people. Duh.

"Hey; if you're not too busy, you could always come join my idiot dork friends for lunch if you want..? I mean, you don't have to of course, but I feel bad but please join us for a meal or something and you can meet them and they can...meet you and stuff...Or if you're not hungry, you can just like...hang out with us or something...?" Fuck you Jason. The expression he had on his face, as he clamped his hand over his mouth, in hysterics...Nico resisted the feral urge to walk up to him and slap him on the face.

"Sure." Will said simply, before putting on that endearing and slightly cheeky - but at the same time mediocre, normal grin...which was so not anything special. Nico swore to himself again, before seeing Jason shaking uncontrollably, his fist in his mouth as a desperate attempt not to make a noise. What a shithead.

"And this is my asshole of a friend, just behind you, Jason." Will turned around as Jason desperately tried to control himself. Nico just gave him a 'who's the top bitch in this place' raise of an eyebrow, which was code for 'I will be the reason for your tombstone's existence, and the dicks on it sprayed by aerosol cans' as Will and Jason exchanged pleasantries whilst they walked down towards the rest. Will was welcomed with a smile and a laugh as soon as they heard why he was here; the story, Nico thought, told more dramatically and more exaggerated than ever thought possible. A story told by shithole Jason Grace. After a few casual remarks and innuendos thrown into the story, they all got what Jason was implying, giving slightly suggestive looks and winks to Nico when Will wasn't looking.

When Will was talking to the other guys, Jason took a chance to strut across to Nico with a smug pug-face.

"Shut the fuck up" Nico groaned, "It's not like that. I was just being polite after what you made me do."

"Oh my god, Will! Um...um...would you like to...um hang out with us...like...um...and you know...suck my cock later this evening and um...like...umm...get married and have my babies and..um...-"

He fell to the ground, before looking up to a smug Nico smiling wickedly down at him. Jason spat the sand out of his mouth before grabbing Nico's legs, pulling him down to the ground as well. They squirmed and rolled back and forth, violently tackling each other, Jason making sex noises.

"Oh yeah, Will. Harder. Harder. Harder! Oh yes, Will. Mmmmmhhhnggggg!" Nico was half laughing, half-scowling, but in his mind, he knew only one thing. Nico was completely, totally, utterly fucked.
