''Now, class, remember this! This will be on the test, it is very important!'', the professor was going at it for two hours now. Organic chemistry was an important subject, yes, but the lecture was boring. Never in my life have I been so tired.I haven't slept in 52 hours. My brain was so slow, I forgot my name at Starbucks this morning. The school year had just started for me and it was my third of six years in college. Chemistry was my passion and I was not planing on quiting. I worked hard to get to where I am.

''The overall structure of the virus in hand is a very...-'', okay I stopped listening. I wonder what my parents are doing right now. It's 2pm, so mum is probably in her zen garden and dad is solving a sudoku puzzle. He really loves those.

The lecture ended and I packed my things. I was a tidy, minimalistic person. All I had was my laptop, a textbook the size of Mt.Everest, a notebook and two pens, one red and the other black.

Okay, let's think for a second. Organic chemistry was my last important subject and now I have P.E. I can skip that. I had to revise some notes so I went to Starbucks since my roomates are loud and I can't stand them, it would have been impossible to get wor done with them around.

The local Starbucks was only a few blocks away, it was a 10 minute walk. The weather was nice today, a bit chilly, but it was autumn. Autumn was always my favorite time of the year. Not only does it have Halloween, but it was fresh and unlike the summer, it wasn't hot and it was enjoyable to be outside.

During autumn, my mum and I used to make fun cookies and Halloween costumes, while my dad and I carved pumpkins and watched sports on TV. I was never a sport fan but it was a rare bonding time with my dad. He had a career as a NFL player before he injured his back, now he coaches a kids' football club. My mum is a teacher in a high school I used to go to. She never gave my class lectures, though. She teached history and English and was really good at her job. I miss my parents a lot.

My college is a center for chemistry and biology and is just a city away. By car, it is an hour ride if you beat the traffic. I reached Starbucks and as I was about to enter, someone pulled at my coat.

''Excuse me, can you spare me some money?''. The person in question was an elderly homeless man. I noticed him before, but never really payed attention to him.

''Yes, how much do you need?'' I asked. It was never a problem to me to help somebody in need.

''Just enough for bread and milk.'' He coughed those last wods. My heart sunk, a lot of stores don't allow homeless people in,for whatever lame reason.

''Wait here, I will be right back.'' I entered the shop and went to the counter.

''Hello, welcome to Starbucks. How may I help you?'', a teenage boy asked.

''Hi, can I get a grande green tea, a large capuccino and a dozen to muffins?''

''Sure, coming right up.'' he almost yelled. Some people are too loud and happy, or maybe that's just the sleep deprivation in me talking. I looked outside at the homeless man who was holding his hands asking for money and people ignored him. I just hope he didn't think I ignored him, too.

''Here you go, that will be $20,63.'' Damn, this place is expensive.

I took the order and walked outside to the man again. ''Excuse me, sir? This is for you.'' I handed him the large capuccino and the muffins. He looked at me in shock.

''This is all for me? Oh, God bless you, darling. The world needs more people like you. Thank you so much, I won't forget this. What's your name, young lady?'' he asked.

''My name is Violet. Yours?''. I smiled at him, it was nice seeing people happy.

''What a lovely name. I'm Jacob. If you ever need anything, you can always find me here, hehehe.''. He took a drink of his hot beverage and a bite of a muffin. He was an African-American man. He had a beard that was already getting grey hairs and he had a scar running down his left cheek. I smiled at him and got back inside the Starbucks shop. I found an empty table beside a ficus plant and sat down. I put my tea on the other end of the table and got my laptop out of my bag along with my textbook and notebook. 'This is going to be a long study session...'I thought as I started writing an essay on one of the topics inside my Biochemistry textbook.

I took a deep breath and started writing the first words out od 10,000. Really now, I had no problem with writing essays, I could write stories for hours and they would still make sense and would stick to the point. The only problem here was that I had no idea what I am writing about. I have no idea what the topic is about and I don't think I will ever understand this.

I was so caught up in reading the paragraphs on some alien magic looking topic, that I didn't notice a local 'gang' walk in the shop. The 'gang' consisted of a bunch of boys, a few more than ten of them. They looked like a crossover between punks and bikers. They combined about five tables into one and started having one of those abnoxious boy talks. One of them got up and went to the counter. He made an order that I couldn't hear and while waiting, he patted his fingers on the counter surface.

He looked around and his eyes landed on me. He had brown eyes, they were a light brown and he was handsome. He was tall, he looked fit, his hair was messy and a hazelnut color. He bit his lip and licked over the area he bit. I looked down at his lips, they were pink, smooth and slighty plump, the lower lip a bit bigger than the upper one. It's safe to say that he was real eye candy.

He must have noticed me staring at him because he looked at me and smirked, puffing out his chest a bit along the way. I blushed a light shade of red and looked back at my book. My glasses almost fell off of my nose. Huh, I must have looked like the biggest nerd, blushing and shoving my glasses up my nose even more.

When I peeked at him, he was walking over to his friends with cup holders in his hands. I sighed and shock my head at my stupid schoolgirl behavior. I kind of understood the topic of my essay now and so I started writing.

''Ah, who would have thought I would find a hipster with your image at Starbucks?'' I looked up to see my math partner, Gabriel. Gabriel was a cute guy. Not a sexy guy, but really cute. He was short but still a few inches taller than me, at this point everyone was taller than me. He was Hispanic and still had an interesting accent, altough he lived here for five years.

''Very funny... What's up, Gaby?'' he once told me that I am the one person, besides his mother, who is allowed to call him Gaby. We were friends since high school and were really close, actually he was my best friend.

''Nothing, I was passing by and saw you, so I decided to bother you. Why the sad face?'' he leaned in, taking my green tea and taking a large gulp. He instantly regreted it and spat it in the ficus plant.

''Uh, you can't just go around spitting on plants... I'm busy with this essay and my roomates are annoying so I have to write it elsewhere.'' I stated, looking at Gaby who was still making a disgusted face at the tea.

''Yeah, they are tools. Well, gotta go. Lots of parties to go to. Hey! There's a party in my appartment tonight. You should come, it starts at 8pm but you can come whenever in case you wanna be fashionably late. See ya there!''

He stormed out and started running past people. Even Jacob noticed him and shock his head at the boy.

I looked at my left to the gang with the handsome guy and saw that he was whispering to his friend that looked like Zac Efron but with blond hair. While he was whispering, he was looking at me and even pointed his finger at me.

'Wow, rude... If he has something to say, he should say it at my face.' Of course, I wouldn't be brave enough to say anything like that, so I just made a face at them and countinued writing my essay. I was at that point where all that was left of the essay was a conclusion and about 50 more words so I scribbled a conclusion and saved the file with my personal data. I sent the essay to my professor and waited to see if my e-mail was sent. When it was, I saved the file on my computer just in case and shut down the laptop. I closed my books and took a big sip of my tea. I packed my things in my bag and just as I was about to exist the shop, one of the guys from the previously mentioned gang asked me for my name.

In retrospect, it may have been rude but I was tired and didn't really care what they thought of me.

''What's it to you, I'm out of your league anyway.'' I turned to leave when I heard a series of snorts and laughs from the group along with a few 'ooooooh, she got you's from the gang.

I looked threw the window and saw the cute guy with brown eyes.He looked at me with  half lidded eyes with a small smile. He winked at me and I left, making my way back to my apartment. It was about damn time I got some sleep.
