"So this is the end? This is what I get for loving you? This is what you promised me?" I asked him. "I don't have an option. Things need to end up like this. We are not meant to be". He mumbled. "It's about time you realised that!" I scoffed.
"See Lylah, you don't need to complicate things anymore. And if you think that am going to apologise to you for breaking your heart or making you believe in love, that's not going to happen" he shouted. Ouch! "I agree, this should be over. We are not the same. The love that was between us has changed. Everything has changed" I whispered the last line.
He didn't respond to it. After a while, I spoke again. "You remember once you asked me not to break your heart. Little did I know, you'd break mine." He just looked in my eyes for a minute or two. No words were exchanged. I was breaking apart in front of him. "I should just leave" he said while getting up from the couch. "And Lylah" I turned around when he said my name. "This is not an end. This is the beginning of our lives without each other." and just like that he was gone. Tears started rolling down my cheek but I didn't bother to wipe them.
I loved him with everything I had, I don't know why I was not enough for him.
