I pressed the decline button for the eight time. Luke had been consistent. Every ten minutes he would call. It was not only getting annoyingly, frustrating but I had to keep excusing myself to ‘answer’ the phone.

If he was going to apologise to me, he was not going to do it over the phone, he was not going to be a coward and take the easy way out. I wouldn’t let him! I mean my supposed boyfriend didn’t trust me. He couldn’t just say sorry, he had made it a whole lot worse.

It was now the end of the function and Lola and I were on our way home. It had been a long day, not to mention the fact that I still had work to get done. I had pulled off my heels, and couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

The car ride was short, but that didn’t stop Luke from trying to phone me again. I let out an exasperated sigh and declined him again.

We pulled up to my house and I got out. I wished Lola a goodnight, and stood on the sidewalk, heels in hand, waiting for the car to drive away. It eventually did, and I made my way up the path to my house.

I opened the door as quietly as I could. I crept up the stairs and into my room, when I saw the clock on my bedside table I couldn’t help but be irritated. It was 12:30. I was not in the mood to do anything.

But knowing that I wouldn’t have any other time to do it, I set to work. I managed to finish most of it within the next hour. Not to mention Luke’s still constant phone calls.

When I felt my head swaying and my eyes drooping, I thought it was best to go to bed. So I quickly undressed, leaving me only in my underwear, turned of the lights and hopped into bed.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ears. I didn’t want to get up. I didn’t have the energy to get through another day. I hit the snooze button for the third time, still refusing to get up. I shut my eyes again when I was rudely interrupted by the sound of the doorbell.

Knowing that I had to get ready for school, I forced my feet over the side of my bed and went to take a shower to try and wake me up. It didn’t.

When I got out, I was rather hungry. I didn’t really get to eat much last night, so I decided I would get dressed later. I quickly threw on my short, pink dressing gown and headed to get some food.

I headed down the stairs and into the kitchen, there was a note on the counter top.

Had to take Lily to school for an early excursion, so will see you two tonight. Mum and Dad.

I put the note down and poured myself a bowl of porridge, man I wish I could of had toast. You know those days when you are just craving something that you really want to eat but shouldn’t, well today was one of those days.

I flushed the thought out of my mind, reminding myself that I couldn’t do intense exercise yet to work it off.

So I quickly settled on my porridge before I could change my mind and made my way into the dining room. “Morning Jo-” I stopped dead in tracks.

“Morning to you too.” Josh had a friend over.

“Hi.” I said timidly, not in the mood to put on my façade so early in the morning.

“You didn’t tell me Kayla Maceton was staying at your house.” I heard Josh’s friend whisper. Josh laughed nervously in reply. He was silent while I took my seat.

“Morning.” Josh stated, a little anger hinted in his voice. “How did you sleep?”

“Horribly.” I said, honestly. “Only got around four hours.”
