Chapter 56: Moment of truth

My knees were trembling as I got out of the car. My eyes are watery as I walk slowly towards him. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that he did not get hurt. He's okay. Thank God he didn't get hurt.

Napalunok ako habang nakatingin sa mukha niya. He looks so cold. Scary. The look he's giving at the guys they've beaten up is giving me the chill. I'm seeing the other side of him that he had never shown until today.

Niyakap ko ang sarili ng makaramdam ako ng lamig. I'm not scared of him but this side of him stunned me. Napasinghap ako ng mapunta sa akin ang atensiyon niya.

His face softened as he stared at me. I was about to rush towards his side when I saw a car coming our way. Clint, Seth, Yu, and kuya got out of the car.

Bumaling ako kay Clyde. He's looking at me like he wants me to come to him. I bit my lower lip. I looked back at kuya then at him again.

"What are you gonna do now?"

"George."

She sneered. "Scared of your big bro, aren't you?"

Di ako nakasagot. She shook her head then went to Clyde. I felt a pinch in my heart when she wrapped her arms around my boyfriend who's still looking at me.

"Are you okay, Clyde? Were you hurt?" George asked.

"I'm fine, George."

I bit my lower lip. That should be me hugging him. That should be me asking him if he's okay... Not George. It should be me. But what the hell am I doing standing here, just looking at them?

I was about to walk towards him when someone suddenly grabbed my arm.

"Kuya!"

He looks worried as he scanned my face and body. "Are you okay, Selene?"

I nodded. "I'm okay."

He breathed out a sigh of relief then hugged me. I glanced at Clyde. He's still looking at me while talking to his twin brother. I so much want to rush to his side but kuya Kyle's presence is stopping me from doing so.

Iginiya ako ni kuya palapit kina Clyde pagkatapos. He asked what happened. Chester explained it to him. Di ko maiwasang mainggit kay Claire na malayang nakayakap sa boyfriend niya. She also got scared like me.

"Ang aga niyong dumating ha." JL said teasingly.

"Pasensiya na ha? Nasa magkabilang dulo kasi tayo ng tumawag kayo. Kahiya naman sa inyo muntik pa kaming mahuli dahil overspeeding na kami." Yu said sarcastically.

Lumapit si Seth sa mga lalaking namimilipit sa sakit na nakahandusay. His brow raised.

"I know this guy." He said, kicking the guy lying near him. "Isn't he the jerk who pushed you during a game, Xander?"

Xander smirked. "Yeah, it's him. Gagong yan. Isang suntok pa lang, suko na. Taena! Olats naman pala ang gago pero kung makapag yabang kala mo may ibubuga."

"That's enough." Clint said. "We must leave before someone sees us."

"Let's go, Selene." Kuya said.

Gusto kong sumabay kay Clyde pero paano ko gagawin iyon na hindi makakahalata si kuya? Nilingon ko siya. I saw him take a step to follow me but Clint held his arm and shook his head. I saw the frustration on his face as he went to his car instead.
