A dark shadow waits, slowly, slowly for the right time to come. Hidden within a black cloak of shame, only it's alarming red eyes could be seen.
A dark haired beauty cradles and newborn in her arms. Smiling gently, she hums a quiet song to the baby.
"Child, O Child of mine
Never have I seen a child so fine.
Let my strength fill you,
'till your heart is blue."
Minutes later, a nurse takes the child into the nursery, and the brunette turns to the man beside her bed.
"Serena Jackson. Our firstborn," the woman speaks with so much happiness and joy, that the shadow waiting in the corners felt a stab of pain. No, happiness cannot exist. It gives pain.
The shadow left the happy couple to bask in their temporary happiness, as it drifted towards the nursery.
Ah, his prize was here.
Sleeping peacefully was the child, wrapped in a white cloth with the name Serena Jackson and a small image of a trident 🔱 next to it.
The baby had small wisps of dark hair around her head, a glimpse of her future appearance. She seemed so peaceful, it made the shadow get more excited in the arrival of her death.
But alas! The sound of a nurse's shoes echoed the hallway. Quickly, it took out a potion encased in a small bottle. It was translucent, swirls of white roaming the liquid. It threw it on itself and smiled wickedly as the body no longer seemed visible.
It held some of the liquid in it's hand, and sprinkled it over the oblivious newborn. Now none could see them, none could harm them.
The shadow cradled the babe gently, but its' purpose was nothing but.
Quickly, it escaped the building, out into the streets of Manhattan.
Now it had all the time it wanted, Kronos was of no use. The shadow of darkness took out a ragged dagger and slowly, but surely, cut across the wrist of her right hand, deep enough for the mass of pain to stay and the scar of a lifetime.
The baby cried and cried, though none could hear through the busyness of the endless streets. A trickle of blood dropped, but the shadow managed to catch it.
Greedily, the creature drank in the blood.
Ah, mortal blood. So long has it been since I drank that blissful taste.
Now, it was time.
The shadow held the dagger lustfully at the tip of the babe's chest. Exactly where the heart beat, on and on.
And just as the creature was about to push the dagger, it felt and huge gust of wind and almost made it fall.
A sign, it hissed angrily, It is not time. But I will be back, little one.
And it left in a fissure of red mist, leaving the baby alone in a dark street. The invisibility was only beginning to wear off.

And somewhere in a hospital, a woman wailed. She cried, and cried. Her tears were an avalanche, her misery was an endless pit. The woman, known as Sally Jackson, never ate for a week. Never slept, never smiled. She only grieved for the 'death' or her daughter.
Poseidon put a hand on her shoulder, "We shall have another child. He will bring you happiness and Joy. Do not despair."
A year later, they had a son, like Poseidon promised. And he was called Percy Jackson.

The Amazons were on the look out for more recruits. On the way, they stumbled, literally, into a young child wrapped in a white cloth. The reigning queen of Amazons, Cirna, picked the child up.
"This is no ordinary baby," she told the Amazons. "I feel power in her. I say that we should raise up this youngling, lead her to the path of a true Amazon Woman. But I sense that this may not be her path, for she will have her own choice. This girl will have destiny bend on her own will. Anyone disagree in taking her?"
None spoke.
"Great. I now announce the arrival of a new member, Serena Jackson."
