Flamefur x Silvershy

"Alright, let's split up to cover more ground. Silvershy and Flamefur go over there," Blackleap meowed to his dawn patrol, "And Iceheart and I will go this way." The black tom headed down on way along the border, leaving the two she cats alone.

Flamefur sighed and gave her paw a brief lick, bringing it over her ear. "Alright, Silvershy, you lead the way."

The silver she cat nodded, her emerald green eyes glittering in the strong morning sunlight that beat down upon them. She led the way along the border, going the opposite way to Iceheart and Blackleap. Flamefur kept an ear out for any trouble while her eyes focused on Silvershy, watching the silver tabby she cat walk ahead of her.

Suddenly, Silvershy stopped and Flamefur ended up walking straight into her rump. With a gasp of surprise, Silvershy spun around to face Flamefur. "Hey, watch where you're going."

"You shouldn't have stopped so suddenly!" Flamefur muttered, stumbling back with a flustered hiss.

The silver she cat shot back. "You shouldn't be walking so close to me."

"I wasn't!" Flamefur lashed her tail.

"Fine then, you walk in front." Silvershy muttered, stepping back to let the ginger she cat take the lead. "Mouse-brain."

Flamefur bared her teeth. "Fox-heart."

"Fish-breath."

"I don't eat fish!"

"Shut up!"

The two she cats continued to squabble until Silvershy suddenly tripped on a loose pebble in the ground and fell over with a shriek of surprise, crashing right into Flamefur. The two warriors were sent sprawling on the ground, all tangled up. Flamefur lashed her tail and struggled to untangle herself from Silvershy, stopping suddenly when the tabby she cat let out a mew of pain.

"My paw." She murmured, wincing from Flamefur's rough movements to free herself. "I think the stone cut open my paw pad."

Flamefur paused her struggles and peered closer at Silvershy's paw. It was definitely bleeding. "We should get you to Nutwhisker." She murmured, freeing herself more carefully from the injured cat. The ginger she cat helped Silvershy up, letting her lean against her.

Silvershy hissed. "Stupid stone!" She started limping in the direction of camp, Flamefur walking beside her.

"It'll be fine, Nutwhisker will heal your cut in no time." Flamefur meowed reassuringly.

"Mm." Silvershy sighed, falling silent as the two padded slowly back to camp.

They were about halfway when Silvershy fell to her knees with a low growl of annoyance. "I'm sorry, I need to rest for a bit.."

Flamefur nodded and sat down calmly, watching the silver she cat as she tenderly licked her now swollen and bleeding paw. "Ow.." She murmured to herself, sighing.

"Here," Flamefur meowed, "let me help.." She shuffled closer and leaned down, her muzzle brushing against her injured paw pad. She grazed her tongue softly across the cut, gently licking the blood away. Silvershy lay perfectly still, staring at Flamefur the entire time.

Once Flamefur had cleaned the cut, and leaned back to look at Silvershy. The smaller she cat was still staring at her. "Thanks.." She mumbled, finally looking away to glance at her paw. "It feels better now."

"Shall we continue walking?" Flamefur asked.

"Yes." Silvershy nodded, standing up again.

They made it to camp and let Nutwhisker heal Silvershy's paw, then Flamefur led the silver she cat to the fresh kill pile for some food.

Silvershy lay down with her mouse, glancing at her cobweb-wrapped paw. She looked at Flamefur. "Thanks again."

Flamefur lay down beside the she cat with her squirrel. "No problem." She replied, taking a bite from her prey.

After some silence, Silvershy finished her mouse and rolled onto her side, her eyes closing as she drifted asleep. Flamefur watched the tabby she cat, a faint smile on her face. Turning back to her squirrel, Flamefur didn't notice Silvershy slowly inching closer to her in her sleep until she felt the she cat's head brush against her side.

Glancing down, Flamefur smiled and carefully rested her muzzle on Silvershy's head. The tabby responded with a purr.

Flamefur wrapped her tail around the other she cat, a purr of her own rumbling in her throat.
