Reuben X Benedict

Reuben' s POV:

"We need to find the portal!" My best friend Jesse shouted to everyone, "Or else Sky City is

going to be in danger again!" I ran through the forest and came across an old building,

almost like a temple. It was made of cobblestone, and covered in moss and vines. "Guys, I

think I found it!" I yelled to them, as they rushed over. "Good job, Reub!" Jesse told me,

giving me a pat on the back. "Now, where is that portal?" Petra asked Jesse, full of

concern. "I'm not sure, but wherever it is, we have to find it fast!" She replied. I looked

around, spotting a gaping hole in the ceiling. "Guys, up here!" I yelled at them, climbing

the vines. There it was, the portal that leads to sky city. I ran as fast as I could into it, and

watched the word around me disappear, being replaced by a world in the sky.

Benedict's POV:

I saw a man walk into the chest room with my friend, Isa. He had curly orange hair, with

orange facial hair as well. "Come this way, Soren!" I heard her call to him, watching him

run up to her. "Sorry, it's just so fascinating up here," He replied, looking through a chest

labeled creepers. I didn't trust this man, and ducked back behind a small patch of dirt.

"We've got you now... Soren?" I heard a new voice yell. I peeked over and saw a brown

haired boy in purple armor. A few others ran up to him, and stood by his side. A boy that

looked to be around my age glanced over in my direction. We locked eyes for a few

seconds, and I quickly looked away, feeling my face heat up. "I've had enough of this

nonsense!" Soren yelled at them, as I peeked back over. He threw one of the creeper eggs

at Isa, causing her to dangle over the edge. "No!" I screamed, and clamped my mouth shut,

knowing now I was in danger as well. Everyone looked over at me, and my eyes widened

in fear. "Who are you child?" Soren asked me. "I-I'm B-B-Benedict." I stuttered, moving

back in fear. "Leave her alone!" The pink haired boy shouted at Soren. "Reuben, Stop!"

the brunette yelled at him. "No, I can handle this, save the founder!" He responded.

Reluctantly, he followed Reuben's order, and saved Isa, only to be knocked down into the

void by Soren. I held back tears, watching my best friend fall. I looked back at Reuben and

saw that he and a blonde kid were fighting Soren. Unfortunately, he was too strong, and

knocked the blonde down into the void as well. "I've had ENOUGH!" Soren yelled,

grabbing me by the arm. "You're coming with me, Miss Eversource!" He yelled, dragging

me away. I managed to slip free, and hit in the jaw, knocking his tooth out. "You little

brat!" He screamed, shoving me into the void. Luckily I grabbed onto the edge before I

could fall down. "Benedict!" Reuben yelled, rushing over to me. "Give me your hand!" He

yelled at me. I obeyed and held my hand out for him to take.

Reuben's POV:

I grabbed Benedict's hand and pulled her up, watching out for Soren behind me. He was

still clutching his jaw in pain. I brought Benedict over to her mound of dirt, and sat her

down. "There there," I told her, "just rest for a bit, okay?" She nodded and looked me in

the eye. "You're my hero," She whispered, giving me a kiss. I kissed her back, and saw her

expression change from gratitude to fear. "Watch out!" She screamed as Soren charged at

me, slamming me into a wall. I fell to the ground in pain, holding my shoulder. "This is

what happens when you mess with my plans!" He yelled, pushing me over the edge. I

quickly grabbed onto his leg, and dragged him down with me. "Reuben!" I heard Benedict

scream, and I screamed her name back. Soren took the opportunity to stab me in the arm

and push me away. "I hope you enjoy the death of both of us!" He called. I was about to

respond, but I didn't due to the fact that I had plummeted facedown into a big body of

water.

Benedict's POV:

"What do I do? What do I do?" I asked myself, pacing the room, "do I risk my life to find

him, or do I stay here and die?" I wasn't sure what to do. I mean, he did save me, so I

might as well return the favor. I closed my eyes, and jumped off the edge. About a minute

later, I landed in a giant lake. I opened my eyes and looked around. "Land!" I shouted,

swimming to the shore, "there's land!" I reached the land and laid myself down

underneath a tree, sighing a sigh of relief. I looked over and saw droplets of a red liquid

on the ground. "Blood..." I muttered. I stood up and followed it, and saw Reuben at the

end of the trail. "Reuben!" I yelled, running over to him. "Hey Benedict," He said weakly,

rubbing his arm. I looked down at it, "What did he do to your arm?" I asked him. "Oh,

Soren stabbed my arm with his sword," He replied calmly. I gasped. "I need to get you

fixed up!" I told him, ripping off part of my dress. I dipped it in water, rubbing it gently on

his wound. He winced, but continued sitting still. I ripped off another piece of my dress

and wrapped it around his arm, tying it with some string. "There, it should be better

now," I told him. He smiled. "Thanks Benedict," He told me, looking me in the eyes, "Let

me return the favor." He stood up, and gave me a kiss on the lips. I kissed him back and

smiled. I was about to say something to him, but was interrupted by Isa rushing over to

me. "Oh, Benedict!" She said, embracing me in a hug, "I'm so glad you're okay!" I smiled at

her. "I'm glad that you're okay too, Isa!" I told her. "Come on Benedict, let's give you the

adventure of your life now that you're off that island!" She told me. "Oh Isa," I told her,

looking at Reuben, "I think I already have!"
