RING! RING! RING! RING! I hear my alarm going off. I have to get up and start my day. Great. I think to myself. Another day in paradise. I pull the covers over my head and pray that my sister won't make me go to school today. I'm already almost halfway through my sophomore year, and counting the days until summer.
I hate going to school. I literally only have like 4 friends. My old best friends, Angela and Lexi, decided since I'm a year younger than them, they can't hang out or talk to me during school, so I gave up on hanging out with them. My friend Elli is a year younger, so she won't talk to me either. My only friends are Amber, Karly, and the twins, Morgyn and Terryn.

My ex-boyfriend, Carter's (who I dated for a year and 4 months) sister named Becca started a nasty rumor that I dated him, we got serious, then I slept with him, cheated on him, and then broke up with him. When in reality, the exact opposite happened. We dated, and got serious. Then, he cheated on me (we never slept together) and I did break up with him, but only because I found out he was sleeping with his other girlfriend. Now, I can't even try to make new friends. They all know of me as "the slut". Some days are easy, but I get the occasional really hard days.

It doesn't help that 2 of my siblings go to my school. They also have it a little hard, being related to a "slut".

Having 12 siblings doesn't help the cause. A lot of the kids at school think that since my parents have so many kids, they're sluts. So I'm frequently asked if being a slut is in my genes. That's always fun.

Our parents passed away about a year and a half ago; they were in a serious car accident. A distracted driver, who we later found out was texting and was drunk, hit our parents when they were coming home from the mall. They were buying Christina and I a birthday present. They were killed on our birthday, August 12th, 2012. I was turning 14 and Christina was turning 22. It was really devastating for all of us.

The rest of my siblings are as follows: Michael, who is 24, then Christina is 23, Katherine is 21, and Lisa is 20. Then, Amy is 18, Alex is 17, I'm 15, and Dani is 13. The last bunch is Christian, who is 11, Nick is 10, Joey is 8, and Alanna is 6. Michael and Christina both moved out at 20, but decided to move back in after our parents' death to help with the kids. Katherine and Lisa already live at home, since they're both in school.

Ring! Ring! Ring! Ring! My alarm clock went off again. It's been 10 minutes since I needed to get up. I start sitting up, and let out a big sigh. I'd do anything to get out of school. It's a shame, really. I love learning, but I don't love being picked on.

I walk to the bathroom, and try opening the door. It's locked.

"Come on!" I yell as I pound on the door.

"No way." I hear my sister, Amy, call back. "I'm doing my hair."

"With the door locked?" I ask.

"Yeah. Go away!" She yells. I walk back into my room. Picking out an outfit was always fun. I wish I went to a school with uniform. Then I wouldn't get picked on for what I wear. I decide on a pair of jeans with my school sweatshirt. It was an almost maroon color with yellow writing that read Malibu Senior High Mustangs across the front, and on the back it said my last name: Cimorelli. I then just brush through my wavy dark brown hair, not even giving a thought to how I look. I threw on some deodorant and a little perfume, and put on some concealer, a little mascara and some light gold eyeshadow.

"Lauren." My sister, Lisa, says as she walks in our room. "Michael wants you to feed the kittens and take the trash out before you guys leave for school." I sigh.

"Okay. Whatever." I grab my white converse, then leave my room and go downstairs for breakfast. I throw my shoes by the door and walk to the kitchen, where I found Christina, my oldest sister, scrambling eggs and making bacon. She tried, at least once a week, to make us a nice breakfast.

"Hey, Laur. Want some breakfast?" She says with a smile. I know how stressed she was, she had to basically put her life and dreams on hold to help raise us. I'm sure our grandma or aunt would have gladly moved in, but Michael and Christina said she should stay in Pennsylvania.

I shake my head. "No, thanks. I think I'll just have a banana." I tell her as I walk over to the fruit bowl. She looks at me funny.

"You feeling alright?" She asks me. I nod.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just not feeling like eating breakfast, that's all." I say. She nods.

"Okay. Did Lisa tell you what Michael wants you to do?" She asks.

"Yeah. After I eat this I'm going." I tell her as I peel it. I eat it fast, noticing all the little kids eating eggs and bacon. I throw my banana peel in the compost can, and walk over to the cabinet where we keep the cat food. The four of the kittens were clawing and meowing at the cabinet. I pick one up.

"Don't worry, little guy." I say in a high-pitched voice. "I'll get you food." I set him down, and pull the bag out of the cabinet. They all meow in excitement. I pour it in their bowl, and they basically dive in. I then walk back into the kitchen, and grab the garbage bag.

When I slide open the glass door, i notice that it's unbelievably cold (for Los Angeles, anyway). The ocean is really rough, and there are really dark clouds rolling in. I hope so bad there was a storm coming. Sometimes, around here, storms get so bad, they have to send us home early from school, or call it off altogether. I throw the garbage bag in the dumpster, and run back inside, to where Katherine was watching the news.

"Have they closed my school yet?" I ask hopeful. She shakes her head.

"Nope. Sorry, darling." I nod.

"It's fine." I tell her, then getting up. I realized that I haven't brushed my teeth yet. I run upstairs, and see the time is 6:53. I go to open the bathroom door, only to see it's still locked. I pound on the door.

"AMES!" I yell. "OPEN UP!"

"I'm doing something!" She screams.

"I gotta brush my teeth!" She unlocks the door. She's dressed really nice, in a navy blue dress and a denim lace button down tied up at her chest. Her hair's tightly curled with a small red bow pinning her bangs back, she did a smokey eye for her eyeshadow and wore red lipstick that matched the bow.

"Why are you so dressed up?" I ask as I put my toothbrush in my mouth. She gets defensive.

"Wow, Lauren, I didn't know wanting to look nice at school was a crime!" She says. She sprays hairspray in her hair. I spit out my toothpaste as she throws on her American flag cowboy boots.

"I was just curious." I say. "We gotta get going soon, Amy. I'd bring a jacket if I were you. It's kinda cold out." She nods, and we both leave the bathroom. Amy goes to Katherine and Christina's room, and I head to ours to get my backpack. I quickly search my room, just in case I was forgetting anything. I'm not. I grab my iPod, phone, headphones, and walk downstairs, where Alex is waiting at the door.

"Hey." I say, slipping my shoes on. He half smiles at me. Alex looks like he doesn't care what he looks like today, either. He had on some Nike track pants and a long sleeve black shirt, with a gray sweatshirt over top. I lean on the back of the couch, waiting for Amy to finally come downstairs.

"Lauren!" I hear Christina's voice yell.

"Can you come here for a second?" I get up and walk to the kitchen.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"Are you sure you're feeling okay today?" She asks me. I nod.

"Yeah." I tell her. "I'm fine. Just tired." She nods, then hugs me. I hug her back, laying my head on her shoulder.

"Lauren..." She says as she strokes my hair. "I know you don't like this school, and I know you don't wanna go to school. But you gotta keep your head up, okay?" I feel tears fill in my eyes.

"Show them that their words mean nothing to you." I nod, then pick my head up. She wipes away my tears.

"Sweetie, you gotta stay strong. For me, if anyone." I nod again.

"I'm trying, Christina. I really am."

"I know it's hard. But, I hate seeing you so sad. I hate it, and I'm sure everyone else does, too."

"I know." I say, then loose it for a minute. Christina hugs me again, stroking my hair.

"I know, baby. I know." She tells me over and over until I calm down.

Today was going to be rough.....
