Chapter 1- HIDE and SEEK

Landon rose up from his chair striding towards him and held him by his orange jump suit. "You think a lowly suspended police officer like you can threaten him? You are nothing but expendable to us! No one would even pay attention to a suspended police officer locked in a prison cell all the way here in Washington. You and what you know is well hidden here. They'll never find you. So, don't you dare think you can do anything to us!" Landon warned him throwing him away from him towards the wall, straightened his suit and strided out of the room.

Henderson fell back on the floor but laughed all the more seeing his distress. If Landon is actually loosing is usual cool that means this time whoever is trying to shut their plan down is closer.

Today he had the best day in here. He was happy that finally someone was going to make them pay for their sins. They are closer to finding out the truth. But they were still far from him. He could tell them everything they need to know. But Landon was right. No one would pay attention to a nobody officer like him being held in a prison. But he knew what he had to do to really catch their attention.

In the evening, when they were back in their respective cells and were being roll called, Henderson prayed to God to forgive all his sins and look after his family. He knew his career and life was already rotten. But with this he can help them find the truth.

They just need to find him. He just needs to catch their attention somehow. So no one would know about a random suspended police officer locked up all the way here. When the real action was happening in New York. But he hoped his name would appear in front of them if he is dead. And more so...a suicide.

With that thought, He slit his wrist. Blood pooled out of him seeping out his life force along with it. He crashed on the floor of his prison cell, heaviness creeping in him as his eyes slowly drooped. He smiled for finally doing something right. A suicide was definitely going to catch their attention. That's all he hoped for. He could distantly hear his name being roll called. But he was already free. First time in the past year, he drifted to a peaceful sleep knowing he'd never wake up.

The elevator door dings open as Edward steps out of it still busy with the call.

"Yes Sir. We'll be there shortly."

He hung up the call and walked in steady strides towards the penthouse on this floor. His blue eyes discreetly checking the security spread around the floor through his sleek rectangular glasses as he kept his cell back into the inner pocket of his black suit.

His black leather shoes tapping against polished surface of the floor announcing his entry to everyone. The security looked up at him. Their eyes widened as they not so subtly became more uptight than before masking any signs of laziness. They all greeted him as he walked past each of them. Finally reaching the end of the floor, he thought of taking out the security card given to him by the hotel to enter the penthouse but eventually stopped when their head of security rushed towards him.

"Mr. Pierce. "He nodded at him and pinged the security code in to the machine and the doors of the penthouse opened.

He just nodded at the security head who was in his mid-thirties but still a very trusted employee of R&G. He walked in and the doors closed behind him.

The silence in the here wasn't surprising. She hates noise. He silently walked to the living room where he already noticed her standing by the large window enjoying the view of New York from here. Either that or hating every moment she had to spend here.

"We are ready ma'am." He spoke from behind her as he clasped his hands in front of him standing there maintaining the distance.

"Did you do what I asked of you?" she asked slight tilting her head to look behind her at him.
