Lexi stood there, her knuckles bare and white as her opponent spat blood and wiped it off with their hand, leaving a blotch of blood on her wrist. She loved bare-fist boxing and every year in the Academy, her name was on the list. No one knew as to why she loved this brutal game but whatever the matter, Lexi was the best. Till date, no one had beaten and already Kara was spitting blood but then the blonde; Kara, packed a punch so hard it caused the raven haired female; Lexi, to fall, face first onto the boxing ring's floor but on the front row of Lexi's supporters was a girl who had hope in her obsidian eyes; Yin. She was cheering for her but when Lexi had fallen, a stray gasp escaped and at the top of her lungs, Yin screamed her name. "LEXI! LEXI! GET UP! I KNOW YOU CAN!" and with that voice, a fist pushed itself onto the ground and she rose up, staggering to stand onto her feet.
"This is it, Lexi. . . I know you can do it. . ." The inky haired girl whispered, hope lacing her every word and as her eyes slipped under her eyelids, Yin muttered silent prayers with seemingly, more reverence than she'd have at church and as slowly her prayers came to an end, so did the match with a joyous cheer resounding through her side. Apparently, Lexi had won and as she'd opened her eyes, the winner was in front of her, grinning.
"Thank you, Yin. . . You believed in me." It all went black, dissolving into a faint buzz and darkness.
All of this was a mere memory for Yin as she lay, dying on the ventilator in a hospital.
