The room was dark, but I could still make out the shape of multiple objects in the room. I tried to crawl around, but I seemed to be bound at my hands and feet. I tried to scream but my mouth was gagged with a dirty rag. I rolled around on the floor, looking for anything to get me out of this situation. I ran into the leg of a table and something fell off of it. I focused on the object, trying to make out what it was. My hopes skyrocketed when my eyes fully adjusted... It was a letter opener. I tried to use my tongue to get the rag out of my mouth, and then I continued to spit until it slowly fell out. I took a big breath, and grabbed the handle of the blade in my mouth. I then brought my bound wrists up to the knife and began to cut, somewhat blindly, at the rope. I felt a warm liquid running down my wrist, and I knew I had cut myself on accident. It began to sting, but I continued to cut at the rope. I finally got it loose enough to wiggle my hands free.

I didn't have time to worry about my wound, so I moved onto the rope around my ankles. With my hands free, getting the rope off was a lot more efficient. I stood up and felt my way around the place, continually bumping into rigid corners of couches and tables. Their was footsteps approaching, so I turned a doorknob in the dark and hid in what seemed to be a closet. I kept bumping into thick, dense coats and I finally just sat down in the midst of it all. The footsteps seem to make its way closer to my location, but then I heard a doorknob turn and the screech of a door... The footsteps were heavy as they entered the room. I heard a light flicker on and a loud bang. Whoever had tied me up had just now realized I had escaped. The voice was deep, so I assumed it was a man. My heart raced and my blood ran cold. I was too frightened to move or even breathe in fear of getting caught. The man cursed loudly and I heard another bang. It sounded as if he was punching something.

I prayed to God in that very moment... For protection and for my own life. The footsteps took on a new pace... This one was now hushed, almost as if he were trying to hide his presence. I was beginning to feel light headed because I had been holding my breath this whole time without even realizing it. I breathed out, and I heard a maniacal chuckle from the other side of the door... I knew in that very moment, I had been found. I held the letter opener out in front of me, ready to use as a weapon if I needed to defend myself. My heart rate quickened and I began to panic. I was about to charge out of the closet with full force and fight for my life when a voice paralyzed me.

"I can hear you breathing... I know you're in there my sweet mother. There's no need to hide... Father's gone now." The man chuckled. I let out a whimper. "Oh mother, come out come out wherever you are. I took care of Father for you. There's no need to be afraid. I won't hurt you." The words rolled off of the man's tongue like butter. As if he had spoken those exact same words a thousand times before.

"I'm not your mother." I replied, my voice shaking and my lips quivering. The man chuckled and the footsteps approached the closet. My whole body started sweating and I began to feel hot all over... A burning sensation...

"You want to play games mother? Alright, let's play a game. How about we roll a dice and whoever gets a higher number gets to pick a body part to dismember from father? Sound good, because I think it sounds great." I could sense the man's smirk from inside the closet and I couldn't help but gasp. "I know where you're hiding mother!" The man yelled, making his way over to the closet and flinging the doors open. I shrieked, running towards him and slicing his torso with the letter opener. "You nasty bitch! How dare you! I married you and you repay me with this? You're worthless!" The man became enraged and barreled towards me. I held the blade towards him and stabbed him right in the gut but failed to stop the collision. His body crushed mine and I screamed as the handle of the blade crushed my rib under his weight. I struggled to breathe as the man screamed in agony. He pinned my arms down with his knees and he sat on top of me. I tried to wiggle out and scream but he just chuckled. He slowly removed the blade from his stomach and quickly thrusted it into my chest. I shrieked, my whole body riveting in pain. I started to feel a warm liquid rising up my throat and I gurgled it in my mouth. I spit on him and my blood splattered his face. I laughed hysterically as the man lurched off of me, cursing the whole way. I couldn't stop laughing as he continually thrusted the knife in and out of my chest and down my stomach, gutting me like a fish. I was pooling blood everywhere and all I could do was laugh at how much of a pain in the ass it would be to get that stain out. I gurgled more blood in my mouth and then spit it up, this time with clots. I knew I was dying, and in some ways, I was okay with that. I looked at the man, stared into his dark eyes, and then with all of my remaining effort, I kicked him straight in the nose. I laughed as blood gushed out and he doubled over in pain. My vision was blurred and my mind spun... The pain was too great to bear... I knew I was dying... So close to being dead. The man grabbed at something and I looked down to see him taking out my intestines and my liver. I was numb everywhere and I couldn't help but watch as he sloshed my organs around. I locked eyes with him one last time and at first I saw rage and then in a split second, the man began to cry and then one thing I saw was remorse.
