Ace

"Father, you must believe me. I would never send our guardians to their death's, I have no reason to. They were the angels I trained to fight!" I storm after my father through his throne room doors, slamming them behind me. "You can't think I would ever try to kill our own kind!" My words continue to spill out of my mouth, no filter. There is a line I can't cross, though. When he has a seat on king's chair I stand within his vision, holding my hands behind my back.

"Ace I no longer know what to feel. You say the demons had possessed you to send the men off but if you are pure of heart how could that ever have happened?" He questions, leaning forward to get a better glance at me. My mother looks over to him, taking his left hand in hers with a calming expression.

"Father, I am pure. If you don't trust me, then so be it." I announce, turning my back to him and taking my long strides out of the room. "Ace," A large thud sounded through the room caused by the slamming of his staff against the ground. "Don't you dare walk away from me!" His voice grows with anger. "You are my son, my blood. Of course, I trust you."

My body turns in his direction once more, nodding in respect towards him. "Thank you, sir," I say, flashing a small smile at him. "May I leave now?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.

"No." My mother speaks.

"Excuse me?"

"We must find out what to do with you Ace. Your father and I don't want to punish you but how will that look in the eyes of our kingdom. They will judge even worse of you. I realize they don't know your real story, but they can never see that their prince isn't as pure as they had hoped. It will reflect on both of us." She explains looking to her husband, then back.

The anger I was subsiding boils in my veins. Walk away, that is the simplest thing to do. All I can manage is a nod and a smile, "I'll leave you two to it then."

I walk out of the throne room, picking up their pace as the doors behind me closed. Once I reach my room, closing and locking the door behind me, I let out a heavy sigh. There is a lot to go over.

I, Ace Boldon, the prince of angels, have been possessed by a demon. My region of angels were trained from the day they were born, but they weren't ready. Not for the battle they had fought. Thousands of my guardians fell, now the kingdom blames it on me because they were under my command. The angels I have been training for seven consecutive years.

Although I don't have any shame saying they fought a good battle, they had tried their best to protect our kingdom. The demons have clearly found a new way to get into our heads and defeat us. I refuse to let them win, ever. I will fight until the day I die to protect my home. The war has been going on for centuries, before my father was born, but the day I die will be the day this war is over.

Whatever punishment they decide to deal to me I will fight through it quickly. My heart belongs in battle and that's where it shall stay. There is no time to fall in love, it is only a time to fight, to win. That is my mission, what I was born to do. I promised I would make my father proud and how can I do that when I let hundreds of my angels die.

Suddenly, there is a knock on my door making me perk up and mutter a small welcome. My older brother's head pops in through the door and nods at me. "Mother and father have made their decision for your punishment." He announces, causing me to stand up and walk out of my room, joining him.

We walk down the hall together to the throne room. "It isn't the lightest." He informs me as we walk forward. "As I expected." I reply with a short tone. I feel him look over at me with a dark scowl. "You deserve it." He blurts.

I stop in my tracks as he advances forward before stopping in front of me. "I'm sorry? Have I done something to you Kirc that I don't know about?" I ask with concern, furrowing my eyebrows. Nothing, I have done absolutely nothing to this man. He treats me with nothing but disrespect because I am his younger brother. He hates me for even being born. Once I was born supposedly people stopped paying attention to him, and everything was me. That is at least what he claims.

"You were born." The words make my heart cringe but I simply nod at him and take a step forward so I become face to face with him. "For being an older brother you aren't much to look up to." I whisper, before stepping aside and moving towards the room again.

As I reach the room I notice Kirc behind me, he kept his distance, but I'm sure he would like to watch me endure whatever is to come. I push the large doors open and look up at my parents, bowing to them before walking up to the edge of their staircase.

"I am ready to accept my fate, father." I breathe out quietly.

He nods and stands, revealing a scroll which he opens with his two hands. "On behalf of the kingdom we have sentenced, Ace Julliard Boldon, the betrayed, to Earth." My heart drops straight into my stomach. Humans? What are they thinking? "He will spend his days there to learn a lesson about caring and selflessness. This punishment was not only agreed upon by the king and queen, but prince Kirc as well."

I whip my head to look behind me, my brother standing next to a closed door with a clear smirk on his face, he knows exactly what he has done. "This is not true father! I will be killed!" I protest. "You will be fine son. You leave now." He argues.

"Now?" I squeak.

My surroundings begin to change, going from a throne room to a dark alleyway. Car horns, screaming, and cats growling fill my ears with disgusting noise. I'm in hell.
