I woke up with a massive headache and throat dry. I blinked my eyes twice trying to get my vision to stop being blurry. I tried to sit up but my body wouldn't have it. Looking down I noticed my hands and feet were bounded by a thick, scratchy rope. My hands only had a little wiggle room, if I try to move it anymore than is allowed I have a feeling I could make my wrist bleed and seeing how I have no idea where I am that could be a very bad thing. Looking around I notice that I'm in a dog cage in a van. There is absolutely no getting out of the cage without a key. I curl back up closing my eyes. The sound of the driver humming is all I hear. Moments later I drift off to sleep

The first thing I see when I wake up this time is a window with darkness filling in to the room. It takes me a moment to gather my surroundings realizing I'm not at home in my small crowded bedroom. No longer tied up I get off the bed I was placed onto, to stretch. The metal door is only a few feet away, I make a dash to it already knowing it will be locked. Surprisingly the cold metal handle moves, opening into a narrow hallway. I can hear the sound of dishes clanking together. Plink, plink, plink. I slowly creep down the hallway towards the sound of the noise. The hallway opens up to a living room, to the right of the living room is a kitchen and to the left a bathroom. I make my way towards the kitchen.

As I walk into the kitchen I see the back of a man. "I see you're finally awake," the male says. His voice sounding strangely familiar.

"Andrew? Is that you?" I ask my voice coming out shaky and scratchy.

The male sets the dish in his hand down and turns around revealing my best friend Andrew.

"Did they get to you too?" I ask.

"No they didn't get to me Ruby. Actually there isn't a they only a me," Andrew says turning around to start cleaning the dishes again.

After those words left his mouth I could hardly breath. My knees feel like they are going to fall out from underneath me. I grab the table to my left to keep from falling.

"You took me? That makes no sense,"I say barely a whisper.

"Yes Ruby I took you from your home. It was all too easy seeing as your aunt hardly cares for you anymore now that you're older,"he growls his voice filling with anger.

"But why would you do this. We see each other every day, you're basically the only consistent person in my life that's not family. I trusted you, I allowed you into my house and I have given up other friends to still be your friend because you get jealous when I have other friends!" my voice starts to get higher until I'm screaming at the top of my lungs.

"I had to. I can tell you're not happy at home always getting left there while your aunt goes God only knows where. I care about you more than she does and ever has. You need to be surrounded by someone who cares and loves you to the end of the world and back!" he's now shouting back at me. He has stopped doing the dishes and is now glaring at me. The look on his face scared me and made my skin crawl. Never had I seen him so mad in all the time that I have known him. I slowly try to back into the living room so I can make a run back to the bedroom.

"Sit down!" Andrew yells at me. I look out into the living room and back at him and his scary glare that could kill a man. I quickly sit down at the table that I was earlier leaning on for support. As soon as I sit down I glance up and see that Andrew's face has softened.

"May I please have some water my throat really hurts," I ask in barely a whisper.

He gets up and walks to the refrigerator and grabs a bottle of water for me. He brings it to me and stares until I open the bottle, taking a sip.

"You can have anything you want here. I stocked up on food and drinks for you. I bought you tons of makeup, books, dresses, CD's, paint, paper, drawing materials. I also bought an iPod for you filled with all of your favorite songs and artists. We also have cable with every station but no internet because I will get that when I know you're not going to try to run from me," he says.
