That one exception

Part 38

It's been nearly a year since I last saw Mini, even though we speak everyday and sometimes we stay in a call together all day and most of the night, it felt like we had been apart for far too long. part of me was worried that by the time we got to be together that Mini would have changed his mind and our relationship would be over.

I looked over at Delirious only to be greeted with a narrow eyed suspicious expression.

"You weren't even listening were you?" he grumbled and turned to look forward.

"Sorry..I'm feeling a little out of it at the moment" I apologized for what felt like the hundredth time in the last hour.

"you mean you're freaking out again...I swear man if you have another self induced panic attack I'm going to slap you like a little bitch" Delirious grumbled, the guy had had to deal with all my insecurities and emotional break downs over the last few months, I couldn't blame him for being a little direct with me.

"Well you are a bitch so that's not surprising" I replied without really thinking about it, I heard him chuckling but my mind was turning back to worrying about Mini.

"TYLER!" Delirious almost yelled

"What!...Jesus"

"My god...Did...you...remember...your...suit...for the hundredth time"

"I'm sorry...I'm just scared he's gone off me" I sighed, deciding I had to make an effort and listen to Delirious for a while, he was the one making all the sacrifices for me and my sanity.

"of course he has...he only talks to you for fourteen hours a day and texts you so much it's like your phone had a ten second chime on it...but yeah I'm sure he's gone off you...dumb ass...did you pack your suit?" Delirious grumbled, this was probably the millionth time he'd tried to reassure me since we started on our trip.

"Your getting better at that subtlety thing by the way...and Yes I got my suit...it's in the trunk" I mumbled as i watched the buildings outside the window get slowly larger as we headed into the city. "how long do we have?"

"We'll be there in about an hour"

I will admit I was nervous, it was a nervous excitement, we had been planning this for the last two months. All nine of us where meeting up in Canada for two weeks to just kick back and relax with each other, no work, not recording, just hanging out and having fun. We had to build up a bigger stockpile of video's than the others because we were going to meet up with Mini and Evan a week earlier than the others. The only people that knew were Delirious, Evan and myself, we hadn't even told Mini because I wanted to surprise him. It had been really difficult keeping it secret over the last few days because I couldn't talk to him as much as I usually did because we were on the road, I had had to lie to him about where I was and what I was doing so that he wouldn't ask questions but I think he was starting to suspect I wasn't being truthful with him.

"I'll text Ev' let him know how close we are" I sighed and pulled my phone out, tapping out the message and sending it.

T - About an hour away...btw J sends his love

E - Heading to coffee now :)

Delirious' phone beeped and I received a slap around the back of my head, apparently Evan had told him I'd add the bit on the end.

"What!...are you saying it was a lie?" I chuckled running my hand over the back of my head.

"No...but you don't have to add that to every damn text you send him" He chuckled and shoved his phone back in his pocket.

The two of them were cute together, every time Delirious thought no one was listening when he was talking to Evan his voice would get all low and soft, and he would flirt like hell. I would feel myself starting to blush at some of the things he'd say so I could only imagine the shade of red Evan had been turning.

I must have zoned out again because the next thing I know Delirious punched me in the arm.

"We're here...I just say Ev' and Mini go in...you ready?" Delirious sighed taking the key out of the ignition.

"No...I'm shitting myself" I mumble getting out of the car and it wasn't that far from the truth, I could feel my palms starting to sweat and my heart was hammering on the inside of my rib cage already. I could feel rather than see Delirious roll his eyes as he got out and locked the car. We walked over to the coffee shop and tentatively looked through the window to make sure we wouldn't be seen as we went in. Evan and Mini were next in line to order their drinks, Evan was facing the door which meant Mini would face him while they were talking and that his back was facing the door. We were about to move into the shop when I saw Mini take out his phone, I grabbed Delirious' arm and held him back just in case he was calling one of us. Sure enough a moment later my phone rang.

"Hey wifey I was just about to call you" I answered as cheerfully as I could

"sure you were" he chuckled

"I can only talk for a few minutes Min I have to meet that guy I was telling you about" I lied hoping I didn't sound as nervous as I felt

"oh...okay...uh...you're uh...going to be busy for the rest of the night?" he sounded disappointed and I had to force myself not to come clean and tell him everything.

"Very...but I'll still talk to you before bed like I always do" technically I wasn't lying I was going to be very busy with him and I would be talking to him before I took him to bed...I mean went to bed...sleep.

"uh ok...so where are you? I can hear traffic"

"I'm about to go into a coffee shop and meet up with this guy...what about you?" I didn't see the point in lying to him about that it's not like he was going to guess that I was out side the same coffee shop he was in. I looked through the window as covertly as possible and saw him staring at his feet, he looked extremely unhappy.

"Just out getting coffee with Evan...he says hi" Mini added as Evan raised his hand in greeting.

"Hey Ev'" I chuckled "Min I got to go...I'm late as it is...I'll call you as soon as I get out of the meeting" I felt bad about lying to him but it was only a little white lie and he'd know soon why I was lying to him.

"oh...ok...I'll talk to you later then" he mumbled, I saw his shoulders slump a little and he turned back to staring at the floor again.  I could see Evan narrow his eyes at Mini then flick to the window  as he fidgeted uncomfortably. 

Delirious and I moved slowly towards the door, a small group of people made their way into the store in front of us.

"soon wifey, I won't be very long and then we can talk for the rest of the night and curl up with each other like always...talk to you soon" I tried to keep my voice soft so he knew I was sincere

"ok,bye" He mumbled and hung up, he was definitely upset hopefully he would forgive me when he found out why I'd been avoiding telling him too much the last few days.  We followed in the small group of people and I moved slowly so that I was standing behind Mini, Delirious stood just by my shoulder, Evan was trying hard not to stare at him and Mini was starting to notice his behavior. "You ok you seem distracted?"

"Yeah I'm fine...just feel like I want to get home as soon as possible" he sighed and turned to order the coffee because they had just got to the front of the line.  I only partially listened to what he was ordering because I was distracted with having Mini only a few inches in front of me.

"Wait why are you ordering four coffee's?" Mini sounded bemused

"so you don't listen when I tell you that there is no way Tyler is cheating on you but you hear the coffee order as clear as a bell?" Evan returned the question smirking at Mini, I was a little shocked to hear that Mini would think that about me.
